On March 22nd at 4pm, the event will begin with an hour-long keynote panel featuring Maureen Charlebois (Canada Health Infoway), Gary Higgs (CIO at Grand River Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital), and Will Falk(Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto). The evening continues with an informal reception (food and refreshments) and information ex - change in which students have the opportunity to speak to employer representatives and see the participating organization display their company, products, and visions. W e are inviting students and faculty from many Ontario institutions, including McMasterUniversity , Ryerson University, University of Guelph, University of Waterloo, University ofWestern Ontario, Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Toronto, York University, Conestoga College, Centennial College, George Brown College, Mohawk College and Sheridan College. CHiE is organized by National Student Forum for Health Informatics (NSF). CHiE 2011 brought 130 students and recent graduates from 9 universities and colleges across Southern Ontario together with 20 employers inside the Communitech Hub in Kitchener, Ontario. We’re going BIGGER!Following the success of CHiE 2011, we received much applause, encouragement, and feed-
back from industry and students alike. We have buckled up again to make this the most suc-
cessful CHiE event yet. We have improved logistics to ensure you get the most out of this event
with a dedicated exhibition oor, exhibitor guides for students, and possibly distributing digital

CHiE 2012 will be held in Kitchener City Hall - an award-winning building at the heart of
downtown Kitchener, acclaimed for its unique architecture. This facility is easily accessible byvarious means of transportation and offers convenient parking space. The larger venue will host
more participants and offers more booth space.

The National Student Forum for Health Informatics was established in 2009 as a joint initiative betweenthe National Institutes of Health Informatics (NIHI) and COACH: Canada’s Health Informatics Asso-
ciation. It has grown to nearly 200 ofcial registered student and recent graduate members representing
Canadian colleges, universities, law schools, and medical schools. It offers a monthly webinar series (The
NSF Grand Rounds), a weekly bulletin with news and events related to Health Informatics, organizes the
annual CHiE event and a student poster competition at the Advances in Health Informatics Conference, an
international scientic conference. Integrated with all major social media platforms, NSF’s new website
(nationalstudentforum.ca) aims to become the central information and news hub for students and recent
graduates interested in health informatics. NSF is currently establishing local student groups at Canadian
colleges and universities. All national initiatives are run by a core group of students who receive adminis-
trative support from NIHI. A group of senior advisors from industry and academia will provide guidance
to NSF in 2012. The president of NSF reports annual progress to Health Informatics program directors atthe COACH Annual Academic Forum.
