NSDI and Inspire implementation Lars Christensen Inspire overall implementation status Data sharing Building Geospatial Infrastructure Conformance to spesifications/datamodels Challenges National Infrastructure (NSDI) Well established cooperation: Norway digital Organisation Technical framework Legal framework: Geodata Act (Geodataloven) Standardisation Responsibility of Mapping Authority Standardisation - method (Use case) Standardisation project Feature catalog w/UML model Data product spesification -> Schema, Sosi-kontroll Det offentlige kartgrunnlaget (official datasets for municipalities) 40 datasets Approved spesification, Product Sheet, Portrayal rules - Challenging!! A lot of environmental data is not (yet) standardised Status - services View services (= WMS): > 500 Download services: WFS < 10 Atom ?? File: Geonorge + Many institutions have download solutions Inspire conformant services ( Annex 1 ): No official services. Much is being done within Elf-project National Geoportal Ongoing project for improvement Metadata catalog, registers, tools.. Challenges Need to maintain excisting national services/deliveries Many thematic data live in systems Serving different purposes (reporting.) Can not change easily Alternatives: Treat Inspire as a separate delivery (data for Europa) Most is voidable anyway Incorporate Strategies: subclassing, extending.. Challenges - software We prefer to have a standardised software platform ArcGIS, FME Reluctant to use separate software for Inspire even if its free WFS: Serving complex models dont know how to do this Protected sites System: Naturbase View: WMS, ArcGis Rest Download: SOSI, FileGDB Inspire still testing: WFS using arcGIS for Inspire 10.3 not been able to get it work GML using FME Needs validation Map catalog / fact sheet
