In support of the library, Florida

Mayor James Pawliczek, Sr. has

issued a Proclamation declaring

September Library Card Sign Up

Month in Florida and urging all

residents to sign up for their free card.

Said Library Director Madelyn

Folino, “Currently, 56% of Florida

school district residents have a library

card. Over the next year, our goal is

to reach 60% of our 5,000 residents.

We’ll be canvassing with specific

information on programs and

services, but we also want to collect

and share stories on how and why

folks use the library and learn what

they want from us going forward.”

Library campaigners will also be at

Florida’s Back to School nights on

September 13 at Golden Hill

Elementary and on September 14 at

S.S. Seward Institute to talk to

parents, students and teachers and

pass out plenty of FPL goodies. For

further information on the campaign

and FPL, visit www.floridapublic

library.org or call 845.651.7659.

Florida Public Library Board President Diane Arcieri, Director Madelyn Folino and Friends of the FPL President Caroline Califf prepare for September’s door-to-door campaign to sign up new library patrons.
