Non-Lethal Weapons Market 2014-2024: Conducted & Directed Energy Weapons (CEW & DEW), Less-Lethal Weapons (LLW) & Equipment For Military & Law Enforcement

7. Expert Opinion

7.1 Mr Raoul West, Press and Public Affairs B&T

B&T is a Swiss firearms and tactical components manufacturer. The company was established in

1991 and has a global presence, supplying a range of firearms to international customers. In

relation to the non-lethal weapons market B&T produce a series of less-lethal ammunition and

firearms.

Visiongain would like to thank Mr Raoul West, Press and Public Affairs for his help and assistance.

7.1.1 B&T’s Role in the Market

Visiongain: Could you tell me about B&T's position in the Non-lethal weapons market?

Raoul West: Primarily B&T is involved in the non-lethal weapons market through our GL06 Less

Lethal launcher which was developed in 2005 with introduction to the market in 2006. This includes

the SIR, Safe Impact Round and reloading system. Since its introduction the product has been a

very successful item for us.

7.1.2 The GL06

VG: Could you go into some detail of some of the key non-lethal products you provide to the

market and how they differ from other products available?

RW: The GL06, SIR and Training system are a complete system; The SIR is the safest, most

accurate and most effective impact round on the market today. This is because we produce the

launcher, ammo and all important training. All of these components are integrated. No one else in

the trade does that as far as we know.

7.1.3 Law Enforcement A Primary Focus

VG: Would you say that demand for B&T's non-lethal weaponry stems predominantly from military

or law enforcement agencies?

RW: The LE market is about 70% of our market but the Military market is growing because of the

requirement for Peacekeeping. The largest customer for the GL06 is; la Police Nationale en France

followed by the la Gendarmerie, South African Police Service, Catalan Mossos d' Esquadra in
