1.1 COMPOSITION

The Launching Gantry is composed of 4 main elements: - Main Trusses (MT) (2 nos.) - Universal Lower Roller Support (ULRS) (4 nos.) - Lower Cross Beam (LCB) (2 nos.) - Propping system (Prop’s & Base Frame) (2 nos.)

I. WHAT IS A LAUNCHING GANTRY MADE OF ?

1.2 FUNCTIONS - MT: Structural element that supports the

segments

- ULRS: Main support of the MT. It adjusts

the position of the MT

- LCB: Transfers the load from the ULRS to

the propping system

- Propping system: Transfers the load from

the LCB to the pier foundation
