The Sun range of Passenger Roller Brake Testers and Light Commercial
Vehicle Roller Brake Testers offer the ability to test vehicles with a
maximum axle weight of 3000 kg and up to 6000 kg respectively.
Invisible defects such as seized brake callipers; out-of-balance brake
disks and drums are easily diagnosed via the standard analogue
display or optional computerised display. The fully galvanised steel
chassis offers maximum protection against corrosion and has been
designed to be permanently installed into a dedicated recess.
To offer maximum protection against tyre damage and also
consistent and repeatable test results the rollers are plastic
coated and provides a high co-efficient of grip even when wet.
The Sun SSA 3030
Suspension Tester is
capable of measuring
vehicles up to 1500 kg and
will provide detailed
analysis of a vehicles
suspension system using
the European Shock Absorber Manufacturer Association test
principle (EUSAMA). Worn suspension components can
seriously affect and impede braking efficiency, the SSA
3030 Suspension Tester provides a consistent, non-intrusive
and un-subjective repeatable test platform providing
comprehensive test results. The suspension analyser has
been designed for permanent installation and is constructed
using corrosion resistant galvanised components. The unit
offers the flexibility to be used as a stand alone tester or in
conjunction with the other test lane products in this series.
The Sun STG 3030 Track
Gauge Tester measures
and provides the status of
a vehicles toe-in or toe-out
in mm by driving over the
test plate. The data from
the test can be used to
identify worn or damaged suspension components that will
lead to abnormal tyre wear. The STG 3030 Track Gauge
Tester has been designed to be used in conjunction with
the SSA 3030 Suspension Tester and SBA 2000 Brake
Tester test lane to give a total vehicle condition
assessment. When connected to the test lane PC the data
can be stored, recalled and printed, the use of high
definition graphics makes carrying out the test and
analysing the results straightforward.
2 You are now ready to drive the
front axle onto the tester
3 This screen shows the readings
at zero as no brake has been
applied yet
4 Slowly apply the stopping
brake and you can see the first
readings appearing
5 Release the brake and the
percentage differential is shown
6 You can now drive the rear axle
onto the brake tester
7 Slowly apply the parking break
and you can see the first
readings appearing

make, model and registration of the vehicle
The ATL brake tester tests both left and right brake performance as well as imbalance
all at the same time, saving the operator valuable time. Diagnostic graphs of the brake
efficiencies can also be given.
There are two options of jacking beams available, 2000kg
for Class IV and 2600kg for Class VII. They feature two
stage mechanical safety lock and telescopic finger guards
to prevent accidental injury. Both are supplied with two
pairs of aluminium support blocks. The beams have spring
loaded flat arms with roller bearings, when unloaded, these
support the weight of the beam allowing the entire unit to
run smoothly along the pit or ramp, but when loaded locate
the unit firmly.

The Sun LE 2005 is a fully adjustable VOSA approved
headlamp alignment unit. The unit includes a digital
Luxmeter that is powered externally along with an RS 232
port to allow connection to a suitable PC or printer (not
required for UK testing). Positioning of the unit centrally is
by a light collecting mirror. The unit is quick to set up using
alignment mirror and prism lens system.
The LE 2005 is mounted on rails, as specified by a VOSA
requirement for the testing of all vehicle classes.

Snap-on are pleased to introduce the Sun DSS 10
Diagnostic Wireless Smoke Meter as part of the DGA
range of VOSA approved emissions testers.
The Wireless DSS 10 provides fast accurate testing
of diesel emissions for both mandatory and voluntary
test procedures.
The wireless smoke meter has an automatic standby mode
which is activated if the unit is left out of the charger and is
not in use, helping to preserve the battery power. When the
unit is put back on the charging station the wireless smoke
meter is constantly warmed up and instantly ready for use.
Using a powerful industry standard PC, the Sun emissions
platform is expandable to allow the addition of other
hardware and software options, transforming the wireless
DSS 10 into a diagnostic information centre for the
modern workshop.
