Bingo has started and the turkeys are on the way for our big Thanksgiving dinner. We hope you can come and be a part of our annual feast. The Elks state meeting was a huge success. We got a lot of compliments and I think Jackson has a lot to offer. Thanks to the hard work of our Committee and thank you to everyone who pitched in. Please make an effort to pay your dues if you haven't yet. Our Lodge has been helping folks in this town since the 1940’s and in order to continue the traditions we need to keep our membership up and dues paid. November is Veterans Remembrance Month. As a nation, we celebrate Veteran’s Day on November 11. As Elks, we observe the entire month as Veterans Remembrance Month. "So long as there are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them." Our Lodge will be serving free meals to all Veterans on Friday, November 8th. Come in to meet and thank some of these folks that have served our country in times of war and in times of peace. I want to thank you all for your continued support. • T.I.P.S. cards are in! If you took the T.I.P.S. course in June to be able to serve alcohol at the County Fair, the cards are behind the bar. Ask the bartender next time you’re in to get your card.
• We’re looking for members to volunteer to cook Friday Night Dinners this fall. Dinners bring in members, and we are looking for some volunteers to help put a few nights together. You pick your meal, the Lodge buys the ingredients, and you get to show off your culinary chops. Contact Val with questions. Visit our SignUp page to sign up. It’s fun...we promise!
• It’s that time of year...Bingo has started and we need volunteers! Contact Kathleen with questions, or visit our SignUp page to volunteer.
• Our Community Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Val is heading up the committee, and you can visit our SignUp page to see what shifts are available. We need help the week of and day of Thanksgiving. Contact Val with questions [email protected]
• November is Veterans Month for the Elks. We are having a dinner on 11/8 6p to 8p that is free for all veterans. Everyone is invited, though, to honor those that served our country. Contact Donnie Rodgers if you want to know more about Veterans Month activities.
• Our annual Elks Hoop Shoot will be here before you know it. If you are interested in helping to plan this fun youth event, contact Jessica at [email protected] for more info. Keep an eye on our SignUp page for volunteer opportunities!
