The Tensartech TW1 Wall System consists of pre-castconcrete modular facing blocks in combination withTensar geogrids which reinforce the soil mass behind.The high efficiency connection between facing unitand geogrid is a distinctive feature of the system,creating strong and durable, maintenance freeretaining wall structures.

Factory produced concrete blocks made to exactingstandards and close tolerances together with the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geogrid reinforcementprovide resilient permanent retaining walls and bridgeabutments which will perform for design lives of up to120 years.

Continual research in the laboratory and in the fieldhas provided a detailed understanding of thebehaviour of this type of structure. The strength of theconnection between the geogrid reinforcement andthe block facing has proved to be critically important.

The distinctive geometry of the concrete facing blocksallows the creation of both internal and external curves.Corners, stairs and other features are easily detailed.

The high pH associated with concrete blocks does notaffect the durability and functionality of HDPE geogridreinforcement during the life of the structure.

Often no specialist skills are required to install theTW1 concrete blocks and Tensar geogrids.

Specially designed corners and copings produceattractive structures.
