I hope you’ve all had a super start to the new school year! It’s been lovely visiting classes and seeing everyone enjoying being back with their friends and focussed on their learning. I’ve enjoyed seeing you all on the school gates and getting to know some new faces. For those of you with children that I have taught, you know how much I love our school and I’m really excited to be able to use this new role to further support you all. If you have questions, queries or concerns I’m always ready to help: either speak to me when you see me or, call the office and make an appointment. In order to help you and your child settle in to their new year groups and classes we invite all parents to a “Meet the teacher” session; this will be a chance for you to get to know your child’s teacher and ask any questions you may have. For our reception classes, there is a selection of dates to choose from to come along and ‘drop in’. The dates for these are… We look forward to welcoming you to these meetings but, if these times are not convenient, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the school office. A separate letter has been sent out with more details and also with the raffle tickets that we’d love you to sell for us! We look forward to seeing you there! Nut Allergies Please be aware that in our school we have some children with potentially life-threatening allergies. We ask that nuts are not brought into school for lunch or snacks and that where possible, cereal bars containing nuts are also avoided. We really appreciate your support in helping us help our children. Newsletter No. 2 18 th September 2015 “Wear your onesie to school” day – Fri 2 nd Oct At King Charles and St Francis we have children with Type 1 Diabetes, and this year both schools are holding a special fundraiser for the Diabetes research charity JDRF. This will be on Fri 2 nd Oct and we invite all children to “wear a onesie” to school in return for a donation (we suggest £1 per child). If children do not have a “onesie” they are very welcome to join in by wearing non-school uniform. The school council will lead our whole school assembly on this day and will help us all learn about this condition. Thank you in advance for your support. Non-Uniform Day – Tombola Prizes On Wednesday 23 rd September we will have a ‘non-uniform day’ in exchange for wearing our own clothes, pupils are asked to bring a donation for our Autumn Fair Tombola stall. Kidz Klub will start again on Thursday 24th September straight after school with a walking bus to EBC Hall. Please collect your children from EBC Hall at 5pm. The Film this term is BIG Hero 6. Please fill in a registration form if you are new to the Klub. Looking forward to seeing you. Alan & Team.
