Example: Looking at videos on distance running and sprinting to see differences, and how they affect the body differently.) Sports will be covered (soccer done earlier in the year). Laptops are used to compliment lessons – as in looking at videos of how things are done. The students are getting plenty of physical activity. They are not on their laptops the entire period. Oct/Nov Meeting Minutes Approval o Copies of the Minutes were present at the meeting. o Both month’s minutes were approved with no objections.

Open Items from Last Meeting:
Art Gala
o Friday is the best day of the week for club.
o Trista needs someone to sit in for the first 15-20 minutes until she is able to get to
the school. Sue graciously volunteered to be that person.
o The club will start in January and meet 1 time per month (4 mtgs in total) from
3:30-4:30 PM
o 1920’s theme – colored pencils to be the medium used.
o Students will create 1920’s themed posters that will be laminated for auction.
o Instead of speeches, etc at the Gala, the plan is to have a 1920’s dance.
o Flyers to go out before Christmas.
o PLEASE NOTE UPDATE as of 1/03/2016: Art Gala Club to start in February, not
January as stated at time of December 8th PTO Meeting.
Standing Items:
Yearbook Club
o The cover contest is in process. There are 5 covers that are being voted on. They
are hanging outside of the Art Room. The entries were submitted by 6th graders
and then the entries were narrowed down by the club members.
o The club members are very engaged. Even asking for more projects to do.
o We have had over the top support from the 6th grade teachers thus far.

o Conferences went well
The environment was welcoming
Questions were being answered
No unhappy parents
o Sue feels appreciated and supported, and she will continue to bridge the school
and home gap – this helps to make the school better.
o As always, they are continually focused on the improvement of each student and
that is shown in the scores that school has received.

o Physical Education:
The students are not in front of the computer the whole time.
They are using rotational learning, same as the classrooms.
Trying to use the tech they are fortunate to have in a purposeful way.
It is refreshing to her that they are able to see their progress in PE
measured.
o Teachers are all working together collaboratively as they feel that is best way for
the students.
o Students are happy at school.

• Students will learn skills, concepts, and activity strategies to participate in a variety of physical activities.
• Students will utilize various forms of technology that provides an abundance of practical resources.

• Most importantly, students will take value to the necessity of physical activity & how it directly relates to optimizing overall quality of life.

• Students will demonstrate the current physical fitness unit utilizing the Google Classroom application:
• Essential Question-How is physical activity measured & assessed?
• Lesson Overview-Students will actively participate in different exercise stations. Each student will record the number of repetitions completed per each station on the Google Classroom application.
