We congratulate all of our New Platinums in 2017 who just came back from a fantastic New Platinum Seminar in beautiful Hobart. And to all our Achievers 2017 qualifiers, we can’t wait to congratulate you in person at Penang this November.

As we start the new Performance Year 2018, our focus is on business initiatives that drive GROWTH in your business. We will

be launching new products that will create excitement among our under-35s, we have just sweetened the 2018 GIP program with some additional new incentives and we will be rolling out new digital and social channels that will give us a competitive edge. We invite you to work with us in partnership to make Amway as relevant today to Australian and New Zealand entrepreneurs as it has been from our start in 1971.

This last edition of Achieve for 2017 brings to you some of the initiatives that we’ve launched that line up with our GROWTH focus, with a lot more exciting initiatives to follow through 2018.

We’ve made some growth stimulating enhancements to the Growth Incentive Program for 2018. With one-time cash incentives for first time 9% and 12% pin levels with stretched PGV targets to get your teams going, and with the introduction of the New Emerald Ubud Getaway to encourage our leadership to set their sights higher, we encourage you to make the most of these additional incentives to grow your business.

Talking about modernisation in the business with our digital and social initiatives, we urge you to get on board with the Build Your Own Registration Kit which offers flexibility and personalisation to our New IBOs from the very start of their business. It’s the right time to make the switch to online registration as well.

Continue to engage with the Did You Know campaign focussing on Amway’s Top selling products and explore the newly launched products to create engagement among your team and customers. Use them, share them, and talk about them with your social groups!

Before starting your Amway business, you may not have owned your own business before. We’ve met Amway Independent Business Owners who were engineers, teachers, stay-at-home mums or doctors. But that didn’t stop you from starting a new adventure.

You are the reason the Amway business was created. Jay and Rich knew that people would want something like Amway, because they were you.

Before the company was founded in 1959, they tried so many different businesses. They lived with a spirit of adventure not only personally but also professionally. They started a flight school without knowing how to fly. They started a burger joint without working in the restaurant business before. They didn’t let the fear of the unknown hold them back from a future of possibilities.

When they finally started Amway, Jay and Rich knew it would work because it was the type of business they had been looking for: A proven business plan that was inexpensive to start with virtually no risk. But, they never knew that Amway would grow so big – today there are millions of Amway Independent Business Owners across more than 100 countries and territories.

As we kick off a new qualification year, we’re already thinking about The Greatest Adventure Ever: celebrating Amway’s 60th Anniversary in 2019. It’s hard to believe that we’re hitting such a tremendous milestone, and you’re a big part of it.

We’re inviting Leaders who qualify at Diamond and above to attend our global celebration in Vegas in May of 2019. Our anniversary isn’t just about celebrating where we’ve come from, it’s about looking ahead and setting new goals for the future. It’ll be a trip to remember with IBOs from across the world. 1. What was your life like prior to and after the BodyKey by NUTRIWAY journey?I thought I was comfortable in my body – however I often used to think that other people judged me. The real wake up moment was when I got on the scales for the first time in over 2 years and saw that I was nearly 100kg – that put me 30kg over the average for my height. This was the moment that I decided to get serious about my health.

2. What are the significant physical improvements you’ve experienced while on BodyKey, such as weight, improvements in muscle mass, body fat %, BMI etc.?I now sit at 78kg, having lost 17kg. Using the BodyKey App, I was able to monitor my weight, as well as my body fat mass, muscle mass & BMI:

3. What’s your exercise regimen like? Due to a major accident in the first 6 weeks of my program, I was unable to do any exercise during this time. This meant I had to stay incredibly disciplined with my diet. I did, however, make sure I got my 10,000 steps in each day, and with the mentorship from my upline Emerald who is a PT, I raised this to 15,000 and started doing small exercise routines with squats and lunges.

4. What other NUTRIWAY products have helped you on your weight management journey?I believe one of the absolute key products to use in managing weight loss is NUTRIWAY All Plant Protein Powder. Portion size was always a problem for me, so eating foods that were filling was key. I still add All Plant Protein Powder to my shakes and cooking as I find it helps to keep me fuller for longer.

5. Do you have any advice for others looking to start their weight management journey? Firstly, set a goal. My first goal was to get under 90kg, then under 85kg, then under 80kg. Commit to making small changes, but enough of them that it makes a difference. The BodyKey App and InBodyBAND will help with this. Completely getting rid of what I call ‘naughty food’ is a big no no – if you cut it out completely, you will likely go off the rails, so reward yourself with a treat twice a week if you are hitting your goals. Lastly don’t get discouraged with your progress - remember that Rome was not built in a day. Lots of small losses add up to the big picture!

T he secret to Ben and Jani’s success as Amway IBOs is persistence, and reaching Founder’s Emerald was not

a “matter of if, but when”.

When Ben finished his Exercise Science Degree, he set up his personal training business and “exchanged time for money, doing it the hard way”.

“I worked my way to a pretty successful level as a sole trader, but soon realised I had a ceiling to my

income. Eventually I came across the Amway model,” he said.

“I was intrigued by the possibilities and the leverage that this business model provided when compared to a traditional business”.

Meanwhile, Jani was a student studying to be an occupational therapist. Her dream was always to be a full-time mum, and fulfilled this after the birth of the couple’s first child Billy.

“We made a serious decision to get to work and pay a price in our mid 20s so that we could have options in our 30s to live life on our terms”.

Now some five years after that decision, the couple have three boys, a brand new “dream home” and healthy financial options.

“We are very focused on getting people healthy first, then wealthy. We are product of the product first, and are very firm on making sure everybody becomes an ambassador of the product line. What we have found is that when people have experienced good health themselves, they like passing it on to others. It’s a natural progression.”

Ben and Jani have now set a goal of reaching Diamond — “and to break over 1,000 platinums before we’re done”.

Paul Salter & Belinda Balcombe

Paul, a father of three children, has worked in a number of industries, including Real Estate and

Property Investment, and was working as a stockbroker when he joined the Amway business.

He met Belinda, herself a mother of two, and the couple established a successful short-stay

accommodation business. With Paul’s knowledge of finance, and Belinda’s experience in the Airline industry and small business, they have a great partnership.

Paul and Belinda credit their association with the resources and education of their network, a training and support organisation for Amway distributors, as giving them an edge in all their traditional work environments, helping them achieve extraordinary results.

Although time poor, they have still managed to create an income producing asset outside of their accommodation business.

Both have spent their lives trying to establish residual income, using shares, property, superannuation and business. They have experienced the challenges each of those areas presented and are extremely grateful they spent time on their ‘Plan B’, which has now proven to be the most predictable income stream for their long-term security.

“The business opportunity is so simple that most people miss it because it is not obvious,” Paul said, adding that it is worth persisting until you uncover the obvious.

Umesh & Tungisha Gupta

P Umesh and Tungisha came to Australia from India in search of a better life for themselves and

their family. When they arrived, they realised it would not be easy building a comfortable lifestyle with just a regular job.

“We had the option to either continue to work in our full-time jobs and live an average life, or put in extra effort to create wealth and develop a lifestyle that is way above average,” Umesh said.

“The Amway business offered us an opportunity that could be started with very little investment and pursued part time without any effect on our full-time jobs”.

“We want to provide the best for our families, provide the best education for our children. Travel around the world, and live a stress-free life.”

Through their Amway journey, the biggest challenge they have faced is learning to be patient and “respond”, rather than “react” while working with people.

Subash & Swetha Mallepally

Success is not a destination, it’s a journey, enjoy the journey.” Those words of wisdom have helped

Subash and Swetha reach Emerald level in their journey with Amway.

The couple work together on their Amway dream, with Swetha leveraging their Amway success to leave the corporate world

behind seven years ago, while Subash continues to work as a software engineer.

Veasna Chhay

V easna felt like he was drifting along in life, lacking direction until a close friend of his introduced him to the

Amway business.

Four years after getting started, Veasna achieved Emerald. He credits the success to his mentors saying, “They have personally mentored and guided me to become the person I am today.”

Veasna came to “this beautiful country” when he was 2 years old, the middle of five children, and was running his own wedding photography business while working part-time in office administration when he saw the Amway Sales and Marketing Plan. Noppawat Sopasettanan & Prapaipit Vanveeratikul

Noppawat began his Amway business while working as an engineer in the largest construction material company in Thailand,

while his partner, Prapaipit, had just graduated from University.

Before they joined Amway, they thought it was a small business, which was not their dream. “We wanted to start a huge business,” Noppawat said. “But after doing more than a year’s research, and seeing that Amway provides enormous potential and stability, a friend gave us the opportunity to join. “We took action because we believed in our friend and ourselves. It was an inspirational choice.”

Today, their business is expanding across the globe. “Life is all about financial freedom and freedom of choice,” Noppawat said. “We now enjoy an amazing life and have travelled to more than 30 countries. We get to spend special time with family members,

having fun and enjoy living life as we choose.”

Noppawat and Prapaipit’s success comes from listening to their coach, and believing in an upline that had already overcome every possible obstacle. It is also due to having clear goals, being persistent and consistent, and believing in the potential of others.

Michelle Dupen joined the Amway business just four years ago and, with

consistent and strong business growth, she has never looked back.

What strategies did you use to reach Platinum?

I followed the advice of my upline, asking lots of questions and plugged into product materials and events that helped to fast track my learning and helped me start selling products.

What do you like most about your Amway business?

The model uses leverage to create wealth. It’s a smart, effective model that isn’t based on an exchange of time for money.

What advice would you give to someone running their own Amway business?

Learning as much as you can as quickly as you can, attend events and associate with successful people who have done what you’re trying to do. Then put in the effort!

What is your vision for the future of your Amway business? Your big goal?

I have big ambitions. I would like to reach the level of at least Double Diamond. A helicopter has even made it onto my dream list!

What are some of your tips for success?

We had to be a product of the product, especially when it came to health and looking and feeling healthy. Our business strategies have been about helping people to get what they want, while working with leaders that are willing to fight for a goal.

What do you like most about your Amway business?

We love that it enables us to meet people, that we

What advice would you give to someone running their own business?

Set big goals, work with your coach, find out what people want and don’t quit.

How do you tell other people about Amway?

Kornprom PromjarnAs a civil engineer, Korn Promjarn watched his senior managers work hard every day and saw that they were waiting for annual leave to enjoy their life.

“I have no desire to follow that lifestyle,” he said. “I want to retire young, and have the freedom to be anywhere I want anytime.”

He borrowed a saying from Confucius, “We all have two lives, the second one starts when you realise you have only one” and joined Amway, taking the first step in achieving that lifestyle.

With Platinum recognition under his belt, he is well on the way to success.

Korn believes that there are three skills a successful IBO needs – listening skills, learning skills and people skills. “When you start listening is when you start learning.”

Korn’s big vision is to resign from his engineering career within the next year and develop a multi-national Amway business that will see him “travel first-class with Amway forever”.

Kathy Woods & Geoff Gerard “Work smarter, not harder, always be transparent and honest, be available for clients, be accountable for your actions, and never pre-judge those you prospect.”

That’s the advice of Kathy Woods and Geoff Gerard, who recently made Platinum level.

The couple initially joined Amway to support their daughter, who is now their Platinum upline, and stayed to build the business and “seek to live a purposeful life helping others”.

“We love being part of an extended family. We

believe we have access to the best products in the world and we love sharing these with others, and often making a significant difference in their lives,” Kathy said. “We like to think we lead by example; we use the products and believe they are the best hands down.”

With a plan to build the Amway business to a full-time income, Geoff and Kathy’s advice to others is “never quit”.

“This business has incredible opportunities that are not available in the traditional business world. Go Diamond!”.

Lorraine & Lyle Bate At nearly 60 years old, Lorraine Bate certainly won’t be sitting at home stagnating when she retires. Instead, she plans to focus on achieving Diamond level in her Amway business.

“This is to go towards our retirement. Not many people can depend on their retirement fund, and if I can make that easier, how great is that?”

Lorraine came to Amway seeking weight loss help, with no intentions of joining the company. When she lost 32 kilograms, however, she

wanted to be able to help others and she soon gave up her job as a judge’s associate to concentrate on Amway full time.

“At this stage of life, it has been pretty amazing to be able to embark upon changing myself. We train to do a job, this is life.”

She credits the mentoring from her upline with her Platinum recognition and says it is never too late to start – and to aim for Diamond.

Pariwat Kuan-am (PK)With a vision board outlining goals attached to his wall, PK can literally touch and see his Amway dream every day.

“I look at my upline’s life and that is what I want,” he said. “I am working hard to become a Diamond in Australia.”

His dream is to be able to look after his parents back in Thailand. “They helped me a lot, I wouldn’t be here today without them.”

PK believes the secret to success is to trust in your coach and upline. “I have been following their lead and advice. I am here today as a Platinum because of them.”

“I came to Australia because I was bored with all my jobs. The first year in Australia, I worked very hard; I was a kitchen hand, cleaner and waiter. I had no choice. Now, I am working as a personal trainer and Amway is giving me the chance to be a business entrepreneur.”

Sean Mann & Sharna HodgesAs a personal trainer and fitness professional, Amway’s NUTRIWAY® was a perfect fit for Sean Mann’s clients.

“We have streamlined weight loss with personal training,” Sean said, adding that Amway offered genuine support. “The people are just very generous and helpful, right from the start.”

Venkateshwar & Anuradha MadapVenkat and Anuradha joined Amway with one goal in mind: financial independence for themselves and to help their extended family.

They prayed to win the lottery, but instead found prosperity in becoming IBOs.

Masaru Shibata & Hoang My LeMasaru Shibata’s career with Amway has come full circle – his first office job was in the accounts department at Amway Malaysia.

“Walking into the office each morning, I had always wondered what the names on the wall meant as I saw the various levels of Emerald, Diamond, and so on. Now that we know, it’s only a matter of time before we earn a spot on the wall too!”

Thanks to a relentless work ethic and a clear game plan, Masaru and his wife Hoang My Le reached Platinum just three years after becoming IBOs.

“We had faith that whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

Their advice for others starting their Amway journey is to “develop your people skills and a love of those around you”. “Not to mention believing and recognising the quality of the products.”

“Stick closely to your working uplines and truly value the gift of mentorship,” Masaru said.

The couple’s goal is to become Founders Crown Ambassadors and “have the most unified, diversified, and electrified group in Amway”.

Dominik & Tegan HudakStepping outside their comfort zone has proven a winner for Dominik and Tegan, who joined Amway after a friend shared the business concept with them.

“Dom and I did not come from a business background or mindset,” Tegan said. “We had to learn and develop a range of different skills, as well as fail and make mistakes to move forward.”

When they started their Amway business, they placed their trust in people with a vested interest in their success.

“We later learnt the importance of working

towards a written goal and leading by example,” Tegan said.

“We love that we can earn as we learn and once you have the skills to build a business, you can bless many other people and families with the opportunity.”

Tegan and Dom look forward to having Amway in their lives and hearts, now and in the future.
