    ORGANIZATION

    Founded by Bhutanese refugee women in 2001

    AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

    To empower women and help them to be educated

    about issues affecting their day to day life and

    focuses on women age 17-25 who are considered

    to be most vulnerable to trafficking and the sex

    trade.

    THE WOMENS FOUNDATION

    Established in 1988 and registered in 1991

    PURPOSE

    To help all women and children equally regardless

    of caste, religion, or race

    To help domestically abused women thrown out of

    their home by their husbands family, harassed by

    employers, raped, sold into prostitution and slavery

    or victimized by the practices of witch hunting

    skills training in sustainable development and

    income generation and legal and human rights

    education In Kathmandu, they run a shelter which is safe

    haven for women and children who are the

    survivors of violence where they receive counseling,

    Founded in 1987 MISSION

    To create awareness regarding issues surroundingthe trafficking of women and young girls in Nepal

    To create a strong network against the trafficking ofwomen and young girls by promoting self-reliance &self-confidence among women through self-development training and economic empowerment.

    ACTIVITIES Works with other local NGOs to facilitate programs

    such as womens leadership training, non-formaleducation and girls trafficking awareness.

    JANAKI WOMEN AWARENESS

    SOCIETY(JWAS)

    AFFORD-Nepal was founded in 2000 to address thelack of sufficient public awareness about education,

    environment, health, sanitation, and family planning in

    rural Nepal

    OBJECTIVES To bring about a positive change and transformation in

    the life of people in society by empowering and

    strengthening the status and conditions of children and

    women enhancing their pace of development through

    equal opportunity for equal participation in development

    in order to create a peaceful, prosperous, equitable and

    sustainable development in poor rural communities
