Objective

To gain practical knowledge about mushroom farming and tackle hardship

Moreover to present an example for motivating youths towards Self Employment using Local resources at local level

Introduction to Oyester Mushroom Locally called kanye chyau whereas scientifically known as Pleurotus ostreatus

Introduced to Nepali farmers in1984

Most consumed and produced species in our country

Hilly and terai region during winter suitable

Temperature preferable below 30 degree Celsius

Can be harvested in 24 -30 days, multi harvesting 3-5 times

DetailsFunded by involved members of

YPARD Rampur chapter. Rs 2500 each

Materials required- Wood 3 quintals, Straw 422 bundles, spores 37 packets, 48 bamboo logs, polythene bag (opaque and transparent)

Estimated cost for each packet Rs. 130

Estimated earning from each packet Rs. 220
