SPECIAL PROJECTS DESCRIPTIONS
Final Year Project: Geotechnical mapping for slope stability investigations at
Buzwagi Gold Mine. The mapping was done using scan line and photogrammetric
mapping techniques to determine the orientations and modes of failure of potentially
unstable wall blocks.
Assessment of the effects of water on pit slope stability at Buzwagi Gold Mine. The
scope of the project was to identify the effect of water on pit slope when comes into
contact with water and how to improve the pit slope stability at the mine.
Review of the development supports standard at Bulyanhulu Gold Mine. The scope
was to establish support requirements for waste and ore development based on current
excavation sizes.
Analysis of Jackhammer and its performances at Nyang’homango Quarry-Mwanza.
Specifically, on the effectiveness and performance of the Jackhammer during its
operation.
