Für zwei Aufträge im Bereich der Fertigungsprüfung von Eisenbahnrädern musste eine hochleistungsfähige Prüfelektronik eingesetzt werden, mit der Gruppenstrahler-Prüfköpfe und konventionelle Prüfköpfe bei hohen Zyklusfolgefrequenzen betrieben werden können. Dadurch wurde es möglich, die hohen Anforderungen aufgrund der äußerst geringen Taktzeiten der Produktionslinie zu erfüllen. Hierfür wurden mehrere Module der neu entwi- ckelten Multikanalelektronik ETHUS zum Parallelbetrieb der Ultraschallprüfköpfe miteinander vernetzt. Die Prüfelektronik und die Software zur Datenerfassung und Auswertung wurden dabei auf höchste Verarbeitungsgeschwindigkeiten ausgelegt. Die Nachfrage nach Systemen zur zerstörungsfreien Messung von Eigenspannungen im Radkranz von Eisenbahnrädern ist ungebrochen. Seit 1992 sind weltweit mehr als 50 stationäre und portable UER-Systeme des Fraunhofer IZFP im Einsatz. Im Jahr 2011 wurde ein aufwändiges Redesign der Hard- und Software durchgeführt und die UER-Systeme mit Kenntnis der praktischen Erfahrungen an die Bedürfnisse der modernen Werksinfrastrukturen angepasst. Bei gleichbleibend einfacher Bedienung durch das Prüfpersonal wurden vielfältige Möglichkeiten zur kundenspezifischen Dokumentation und Protokollerstellung neu hinzugefügt. Speziell zur Prüfung von neu hergestellten Rädern ist jetzt ein optionales Software- Auswertemodul nach Vorgabe der DIN EN13262 verfügbar. To complete two contracts in the context of the production testing of railway wheels, a high-performance testing electronics which allows the operation of phased arrays and conventional probes at high cycle repetition rates had to be adapted to the very low clock cycles of the production line. For this, several modules of the newly developed multi-channel electronics ETHUS were net- worked together to allow parallel operation of the ultrasonic probes. The inspection electronics and the software for data acquisition and analysis were optimized in terms of the highest processing speeds. The demand concerning systems for the nondestructive measurement of residual stresses in the rim of railway wheels is unbroken. To address this demand, more than 50 stationary and portable UER systems of the Fraunhofer IZFP are in use worldwide since 1992. In 2011, a costly redesign of the hardware and software was performed to meet the changing operating conditions. These new UER systems have been specified to the needs of modern business infrastructure with knowledge of the practical experiences. With constant ease of use by the test personnel, manifold features for customer- specific documentation and protocol preparation were added. As specified by the DIN EN13262 an optional software evaluation module now is available, which is specially designed for testing of newly manufactured wheels.
