Niagara Christian Community of Schools (NCC) is an independent, non-denominational Christian school located on the beautiful Niagara River, near Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. NCC is rich in heritage and tradition and has been educating students with excellence since 1932. We prepare students for life success by shaping character, building intellect, developing leadership skills and instilling self-discipline. Stepping Stones to SuccessNCC Elementary School (JK to Grade 6) Passionate and loving teachers turn each young student’s natural sense of wonder, curiosity, creativity and exploration into learning. The safe and non-threatening environment Z[YLUN[OLUZ�JVUÄKLUJL��^OPSL�Z[YVUN�TVYHSZ�HUK�L[OPJZ�HYL�imparted during these earliest years of education. NCC Middle School (Grades 7 and 8) Energetic and enthusiastic teachers incorporate Project-Based Learning, sparking student engagement across the curriculum, which lays the foundation for success at the Secondary School level. Students enjoy a vibrant, yet stretching environment which moves them toward greater independence and responsibility. Local Canadians attend as day students, and a limited number of international students reside with local Canadian families through NCC’s HomeStay Program.

NCC Secondary School (Grades 9 to 12/University Prep)For over 80 years, NCC’s Secondary School has been recognized as an educational leader in Canada. Our mission-guided teaching staff provide individualized support, which promotes success for each student. The student body from across the world creates a diverse learning atmosphere which broadens each student’s worldview, necessary for success in the 21st century. NCC Secondary School is home to local Canadians as either day or residential program students. International students are welcomed to the NCC family and enjoy residence life on campus or live with a caring Canadian family through NCC’s HomeStay Program.

Project-Based Learning Brings the Real World to the Classroom

JK to Grade 6The small class size in the NCC Elementary School promotes VUL�VU�VUL�H[[LU[PVU�^P[O�X\HSPÄLK�[LHJOLYZ��6\Y�WHZZPVUH[L�and loving Christian faculty takes course understanding to a new level through the innovative Project-Based Learning Program. Students gain a deeper understanding of subject TH[[LY�HUK�ILJVTL�PUKLWLUKLU[��JVUÄKLU[�[OPURLYZ�HZ�[OL`�work through real-life tasks and solve problems. An emphasis is placed on the basic skills of reading, writing, grammar, spelling, phonics and mathematics. Additionally, our students ILULÄ[�MYVT�5**»Z�YVI\Z[�ZJPLUJL��ZVJPHS�Z[\KPLZ�HUK�-YLUJOprograms, alongside specialized instruction in visual art, music and physical education.

Our students enjoy weekly chapel time, daily Bible devotions in the classroom, and other activities designed to teach more about God and the world He created.

NCC’s Middle School faculty purposefully engages, supports, and guides during this crucial transitionary period in a student’s life. Small class size, structure and discipline help students grow into mature young adults with strong WLYZVUHS�JOHYHJ[LY��JVUÄKLUJL��HUK�PU[LSSLJ[��5**»Z�7YVQLJ[�Based Learning Program provides students with challenging, lively, hands-on experience which requires the meaningful application of content and skill in each subject area across the curriculum. NCC middle school students are given the unique opportunity to gain an enhanced perspective on global issues as well as broadened cross-cultural awareness through interaction with NCC’s international student body. Our students can travel abroad through exchange programs or simply interact on campus with planned or spontaneous cultural activities.

NCC Middle School students participate in weekly chapel, while Biblical principles are integrated into daily lessons engaging our students in an active discovery of who God is and what His purpose is for our lives.

Study HallMandatory supervised times of study for Residential Program participants (7:30 to 9:00 PM Monday to Thursday) encourage students to reach their full academic potential.

OrientationNew international students spend time together to prepare for the school year. Course selections with the Principal or Head of Student Services, English testing with an ESL specialist, shopping for school uniforms, ordering textbooks on-line, opening bank accounts, and touring Niagara Falls and the surrounding area ÄSSZ�[OL�I\Z`�KHPS`�ZJOLK\SL��:[\KLU[Z�ILJVTL�MHTPSPHY�^P[O�[OL�campus and program, meet new friends and begin relationships to last a life-time.

Students in NCC’s Residential Program have access to accommodations in modern residential dormitories located on NCC’s campus, or in local Canadian homes through NCC’s HomeStay Program. All residential students have access to computer labs, wireless internet, library, gymnasium, recreation YVVT��Ä[ULZZ�JLU[LYZ�HUK�V\[KVVY�ZWVY[PUN�MHJPSP[PLZ��9LN\SHYS`�planned weekend and evening activities such as shopping, movies, dinners, tourist attractions and cultural events enrich the lives of students in the Residential Program.

Personal Care The Dean of Students arranges doctor and dentist appointments, transportation, activities, and acts as Custodian to students in need of personal care or in case of an emergency.

Residential Dormitories Beautiful residential dormitories on the NCC campus allow students to experience all that NCC has to offer. Boys’ and girls’ dormitories are separate facilities, each with a Residence Director and a Residence Assistant living onsite to guide and mentor students. These live-in care-givers help students develop solid, character-building relationships.

HomeStay ProgramNCC’s HomeStay Program offers students the opportunity to experience Canadian culture while living with a carefully chosen and matched family as one of their own. Families invited to participate in NCC’s HomeStay Program are individually selected from alumni, faculty, staff, families of Canadian students and other long-standing friends of the school. HomeStay students are included in all school sponsored activities and residential programing.

Airport PickupAirport pickup is arranged for new students arriving at Toronto Pearson International Airport or Buffalo-Niagara International (PYWVY[�� :[\KLU[Z� HYYP]PUN� MVY� [OL� ÄYZ[� [PTL� HYL� TL[� I`� NCC representatives to reassure inexperienced travelers and their parents.

Campus Dining RoomCanada’s Food Guide is followed in the preparation of three nutritious meals a day for students living on the campus, as well as a hot lunch for HomeStay students during the school week.

Tutoring for English Language LearnersIndividual instruction is available for the highly motivated student to reach his or her personal goals. ESL Credit CoursesSpecialists in English language instruction teach credit JV\YZLZ�ZWLJPÄJHSS`�KLZPNULK�MVY�Z[\KLU[Z�SLHYUPUN�HJHKLTPJ�English as an additional language. New students are tested for their level of English language ability upon arrival to NCC and placed into appropriate classes as recommended by the Principal. Students are prepared to be successful at the secondary school level as well as at the universities or colleges of their choice.
