1. CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ’S MESSAGE

Dear NABL Patrons,

I thank all our stakeholders for their support in our “LAB FORUM”. As requested, we are planning to

conduct “LAB FORUM” in multiple locations in the next few months.

I cordially invite you to our 8th National Conclave for Laboratories during 13th – 14th December 2019

at Chennai.

We at NABL celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on 31st Oct 2019 on the occasion

of 144th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and a unity pledge was taken by all employees.

Also Vigilance Awareness week 2019 from 28th October 2019 to 2nd November 2019 was observed in

NABL to further strengthen our systems. This year theme being “Integrity – A way of life”.

2. CURRENT EVENTS

International Events

CEO, NABL received ILAC MRA certificate for accreditation of Proficiency Testing Provider (PTP) as

per ISO/IEC 17043: 2010 program in addition to prevailing ILAC MRA and APAC MRA.

Vigilance Awareness Week 2019 NABL observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2019 from 28th October 2019 to 2nd November 2019 with the theme “Integrity – A Way of Life” Vigilance Awareness pledge was taken by NABL Employees.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) 2019 NABL celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) 2019 on 31st October 2019 on the occasion of 144th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge was taken by NABL employees and various activities such as narrations and poems commemorating the achievements of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel were conducted. Video Documentary on his life and statue of Unity were shown and a quiz was conducted.

NABL constantly Endeavour’s to increase its pool of trained assessors from all appropriate sources to

cater to its ever increasing demands of accreditation.

The assessors are drawn from pool of experts in various fields / facilities and actively involved in

Testing/ Calibration/ Medical/ PTP/ RMP in a CAB or industry.

4. IMPORTANT CHANGES IN NABL DOCUMENTS

NABL 100: General Information Brochure is revised.

NABL 151: Application Form for Testing Laboratories is amended.

Release of NABL 137 ‘Specific Criteria for Accreditation of Software & IT System testing

Laboratories‘.

Comments are invited from the stakeholders on the revised Draft document; NABL 191:

Specific Criteria for Reference Material Producer (s) Accreditation latest by 15th November

2019.

Amendment in NABL 218 “Desktop Surveillance”

NABL 128: Procedure for Quality Assurance Scheme for Basic Composite Medical

Laboratories (Entry Level) is revised. Entry Level QAS Basic Certificate will be issued to the

laboratory with validity of three years.

4.1 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS BY NABL

Fraudulent Email Alert - This is to inform and alert NABL stakeholders that NABL does not

send emails to laboratories asking them for user ids, passwords or personal information. All

our email ids will necessarily have the domain name “@nabl.qcin.org”. NABL has received

reports of fraudulent emails being sent to it's users with the subject line "National

Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories. These emails have domain

names different from NABL but can contain email signatures of NABL employees and links

which, when clicked, will ask for your email credentials and other personal information. If

you receive a message matching the description above or if the sender's email id is not

having the domain name “@nabl.qcin.org”, do not open the email or click on the hyperlink.

Delete the email immediately. NABL accepts no responsibility for any loss incurred by the

email recipient on providing information to fake credentials. Please report receiving

fraudulent or suspicious NABL emails to [email protected]
