THE IDEAMy idea is too create a magazine that is solely focused on new,

upcoming and well known bands that are realising new music, mostly focusing around indie rock. The reason behind this is due to the fact there are no other magazines like it.

MOOD BOARD

INSTITUTIONThe institution that interests me is High Speed Productions. I

have came to find interest in this publishing company as they already produce 2 magazines about skateboarding and also an art and culture magazine. I think that they would choose too add my magazine to be produced under there title as the music featured in my magazine will be targeted at creative, arty people and also skateboarders. The way I would benefit there corporation is that all of my content will have relation to there already owned magazines, but I will also bring in a larger audience that are more interested in music.

TARGET AUDIENCE“Hey whatsup im mac, im 24 and im a dude. I love skating and im all arty n that. Im not rich but I got money. I was brought up in downtown L.A, with my parents. I don’t really have a job right now but I am selling my art and getting enough. I usually buy juxtapoz mag and sometimes I buy kerrang or another music mag, but there isnt really any music magazines with good, new, cool music.”

MY STYLE OF MAGAZINEMy magazine is going to be concentrated around new music,

but I am also going to incorporate art, design and illustration within it, I also want to have some link to skateboarding. I want my magazine to have a individualistic look that draws attention to it. I am going to make it heavily design based as I want it too look like something that my target audience will find aesthetically pleasing, i.e. an interesting overall design. I want all my titles to be bold and stand out, and I also want the pictures to stand out. The mode of address I’m going to use is slightly informal.

I would like my double page spread to look, i.e. heavily designed but still containing a reasonable amount of text, enough to engage the reader, I would also like it too look very simple and not cluttered as I think this will make it look very neat and artistic and also original as most magazines pages are cluttered and full. I would like to expand the interpretations of magazines, and make them sleek, cool and interesting.
