Classroom Guidelinesto help prevent confusion

Guideline #1Go to your assigned seat and start working on the assigned "Do Now" activity as soon as you enter the classroom.

Guideline #2Bring ALL books and materials to class and take them with you when you leave.

Guideline #3Follow directions the first time they are given.

Guideline #4Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

Guideline #5Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in the HMS student handbooks.

Special GuidelineThis classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining, for ANY reason. • Everything that we do is in your best interest, so please…respect the “No Whining Zone” this year.

Following Guidelines will result in:•Verbal Acknowledgement •A Stress free learning environment •A pleasant and orderly classroom atmosphere

Not Following Guidelines will result in:1 - Warning and documentation2- Action Plan, Parental Contact, and any discipline determined by the classroom teacher including detention

Severe Clause•Any student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes the property of the teacher and other students), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will earn a detention.

When you are tardy1. Enter quietly if door is open2. Excused: Place excuse in the basket near the door.3. Unexcused: You will be referred to guidance and the office.4. Find your seat and take out your materials

Getting your attentionWhen we want your attention we will stand in front of the class and raise our hand. All students will then quiet down and wait for further instructions.

•In order to use the bathroom, students need to first ask permission. •Students then need to fill out the sign out sheet.• ONLY ONE OUT AT A TIME!

Substitute Teacher Procedure

•It is not easy to be a substitute teacher and therefore, we feel that the students should behave more when the teacher is not there.•If a student misbehaves for a substitute, that student will automatically receive a detention from the teacher and serve that detention the following day afterschool.
