MOSCOW URBAN FORUM - 2015
”Every year we try to select the most pressing issues in the development of megacities. The international political situation brought about changes in key aspects of the country’s life, bringing domestic goals and tasks to the fore. That is why we have decided to concentrate only on the Moscow agenda this year, and to dedicate the Forum to the presentation and discussion of projects related to the capital, a search for new Moscow development centers, outlining the problems and challenges faced by the megacity under conditions of crisis, a search for the most optimal and effective solutions for further successful development of the city. Many different projects are currently implemented in Moscow, aimed at improving the general social and economic situation, developing modern transport infrastructure and a convenient and comfortable urban environment. We have a lot to share with the world, and it is very important for us to receive feedback, to find out how our projects are evaluated by experts. We hope that the Forum will be interesting, informative, truly open to discussion, and will bring practical results, which will positively influence further development of Moscow and the life of our urban community.”

Marat Khusnullin, Moscow Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Construction, Head of MUF Executive Committee:
Aleksei Novikov, Dean of the Graduate School of Urban Studies and Planning, Professor, Ph.D., member of the Programme Committee of MUF 2015:”Large megacities exist in different dimensions — from a node in the country's settlement framework to a neighborhood or a small neighboring community. A city is a country’s boundary, especially its capital, which functions as 'contact' point, connecting the country with the rest of the world. The city environment is a projection of its various roles determined by different scales: global, federal, regional and local. It concerns not only the interaction of governments of different levels, but also the economy, society, and culture. Each of these parties has its own global and local level, but in the city they exist in constant contact with each other.”

RESEARCH AND ANALYTIC REVIEWS IN 2015
Research Study: "The Dream of a New Moscow"Contractor: Strelka Construction Bureau LLC; Curator: G.I. Revzin The purpose of the research was to identify existing trends of the development of New Moscow, to outline the expectations of Muscovites, the authorities, developers, the expert community, and to offer a socio-cultural, economic and functional/spatial model of New Moscow, which can help the dream gradually become true. HypothesisThe emergence of a new territory in the Russian capital involves not just a change in the administrative boundaries of the city; it is also a change in the way the people of Moscow perceive their city, their expectations and the emergence of "The Dream of a New Moscow", which are accompanied by images of a new life and a new Russia. This is a set of wishes that is reflected in the change of the migration of Muscovites, in the emergence of new projects, the evaluation of new types of communities, spaces, schools and workplaces. This set of wishes has not been formulated yet. Therefore, we believe that there is a need to implement the dream in the territory of New Moscow and formalise this plan in a document which should be as flexible as possible, outlining the vision for the main directions of the city's development, like in a declaration of intent, and this vision should be supported, on the one hand, by the main leaders of urban development, and by specific management tools, on the other.
