EN 12115 specifies all requirements for rubber or thermoplastics hoses and hoses assemblies

to transfer liquid or gaseous chemicals.

It was developed based on the requirements of the major European chemical companies in terms of:n environmental respect,n safety of persons,n hazardous level of products.

This means:n Safety factor: 4 (for 16 bar working pressure, bursting pressure must exceed 64 bar).n Resistance to inflammation (no flame after 20 seconds, no spark after 2 minutes).n Capacity to recover OD after crush (for SD type only - hose must recover over 97 % of its original OD when crushed for max.

n Within European Union, all plants with potentially explosive atmosphere must now have designated ATEX areas.

n Hose assemblies do not have own potential sources of igni-tion that could cause an explosion. However, all potential risks of electrostatic discharge should be prevented.

n Our EN 12115 hoses, with conductive tubes, have been chec-ked and approved by an ATEX notified body in France (INERIS) and can be safely used in all designated ATEX areas.

In the chemical industry, the hose connection system is of fundamental importance.It contributes to the reliability and safety of your installations.

All the couplings we recommend for the chemical industry have a smooth shank: there is no risk of damage to the tube.They have adaptable ends fully compatible with your existing couplings and are available in a wide choice of materials for each of your applications (bronze, aluminium, stainless steel, polypropylene or special coatings).

These couplings can be fitted on rubber hoses:n by crimping (with notched ferrule®),n or by half-shell collar.
