Modern “WONKY” 12" Finished Double Nine Patch - (12 ½" unfinished)By Kristi Van Os

Cut 5 - 6 ½” Squares of FabricCut 4 - 4 ½” Squares of Background Fabric

• Stack fabric and make a “WONKY” cut on both sides

• Shuffle fabric - take the 1 fabric from the middle and place it on the bottomst

• Take 2 pieces off the 3 column and place them on the bottomrd

• Sew together in order - Your block should measure roughly 6 ½ x 5 ½"

• Stack your blocks up and make a “wonky” cut again.

• shuffle using the same method above - Sew together to make your blocks (they should measureroughly 5 ½" square)

• But wait hold on - Your blocks need to be squared up to 4 ½” but, just to make it a little more“wonky”

• I placed a 4 ½ “ ruler (or make a template) on the block, slant the ruler/template and square up theblocks so they measure 4 ½" . I think it makes them look double “wonky” :-)

• After you have the 5 - 9 patch blocks made - sew with alternating 4 ½” block to make yourWonky Double Nine Patch (see above picture)
