ABSTRAK
Silvia Kristanti, 2013. MODEL EPIDEMI STOKASTIK SUSCEPTIBLEINFECTED SUSCEPTIBLE (SIS). Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahu-an Alam, Universitas Sebelas Maret.

ABSTRACT
Silvia Kristanti, 2013. SUSCEPTIBLE INFECTED SUSCEPTIBLE (SIS)STOCHASTIC EPIDEMIC MODEL. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sci-ences, Sebelas Maret University.
The susceptible infected susceptible SIS epidemic model is a model thatexplained the spread of disease which characteristics of each individual can bereinfected because it has no permanent immune system. The spread of diseaseare considered as a random events which depend on the time variable so it iscalled stochastic processes. The changes of the number of infected individualsare a stochastic process in continuous time interval that can be explained by SISstochastic model.
The purpose of this research is to construct the SIS stochastic model. Thesolution of the SIS stochastic model is obtained by Ito’s formula and probabilityfunction of random variables from the number of infected individuals satisfy for-ward Kolmogorov differential equations. The SIS stochastic model is applied tothe spread of pertussis disease. Model is simulated by taking a different valuesof the contacts rate β. The results of simulation show that the if value of β isgreater than γ, then the more rapid increase in the spread of disease and themore number of infected individuals. But if the value of β is smaller than γ, thenthe more rapid decrease in the spread of disease and the infected individuals iszero means no disease transmission occurs again.
