Fashion and Fine Art Fusion

M street :

•A series of 7 artistic bay window installations will formone unified visual narrative. This story will come to life asa team of select artists combine elements of fashiondesign, painting, sculpture, and photography to createone cohesive story.

• The female character to the left will bereplicated to inhabit a colorful sequentialscene that occupies all 7 bay windows

• Her elaborate gowns will be made of paper,designed by paper sculptor Aaliyah Goodman.

• Like the example to the left, the narrative willbe created by creatively combining painting,sculpture, photography, and haute couturefashion design into a cohesive series ofinstallations on both M & N Streets.

•A continuous, full coverage mural will be designed for N Street and printed on Vinyl. The vinyl will be installedalong the exterior of the window corridor.

• The artistic design will thematically incorporate Washingtonian iconography/landmarks with the art of fashiondesign. These themes will be integrated into a colorful and scenic narrative that will unfold as viewers walk alongM Street and onto N Street.

•The design will end at the Public Safety Workstation, where Summer Youth Employment Students will curate theirown exhibit of artwork from the Art Whino Gallery

•Working studio accommodating 5-8 emerging members of thecreative economy

•Social Media, Media/Entertainment, Music Production, Visual Art,Fashion and Interior Design, Graphic Design and Photography willall be represented in the studio

•A gallery setting will be created within the interior N Streetspaces, offering art exhibitions and providing a destination pointfor shoppers, tourists, and convention attendees

Street Painting on N StreetIn 2007, the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities executed a citywide streetpainting project, paying tribute to the colorful striped style of Washingtonian artist GeneDavis.

A similar street painting project can be done, involving the Shaw community andWashingtonian artists on N Street.
