FLOW SENSORS_
The Moog Bradford Micro Flow Sensor (MFS) is a thermal capacity measurement principle based, fully ESA qualified mass flow rate gauging component for gaseous media, such as nitrogen, xenon, helium and argon.
The measurement principle is tailored for very low mass flow rates in the range from 0 to 1 mg/s. By means of a by-pass architecture, the actual mass flow rate range can be scaled to fit any customer requirement.
The actual measured response of the MFS (with a τ63% of roughly 1.5 seconds), can be predicted because the dynamic response follows a near perfect power of an exponential (e) function. The resulting derivative signal has a settling time (τ63%) of down to 25 msecs. The algorithm needed to perform the Flow Sensor signal acceleration is implemented as a dedicated analog electronics, which is combined with the FS signal amplification into the Flow Sensor Electronics (FSE).
