Though it feels like a long journey to get here, I am extremely happy to release my first solo album with beloved music by Astor Piazzolla, and other traditional

Argentine tangos. When I first got the idea of making this album in early 2016, my heart was still in deep darkness. The process of making this album helped me to restart my life with music.

Music is life

Music is spirit

My life has always been with music

Oblivion ~ the state of being completely forgotten or unknown ~

You will not easily forget the pain you experienced; it never goes away completely. However, I strongly believe that we, human beings, are gifted with the power and the skill to overcome pain and move on with life through the physical body. Your spirit forever remembers all kinds of feelings: what you loved, hated, and every sensation that you experienced in your body.

Here Is My Story

I fell in love with Tango music about 10 years ago. I started playing Astor Piazzolla’s compositions and immediately felt a deep connection. Soon after, I started to play traditional tango music from Argentina, Piazzolla’s homeland. I love the rhythms, energetic syncopation and danceable milonga, as well as the beautiful melodies. They are extremely emotional and melancholic. Tango music always touches the deepest place of my heart.

In August 2014, I lost my fiancé, the person who I loved most in life. He was the person who introduced me to this wonderful tango music. We had played together for seven years, sharing every aspect of our lives. He suddenly left for heaven one day, and since then my time had stopped. I had the darkest moments of my life. However, after receiving tremendous support from my family and friends, I finally have the energy to make music and start over my career. It has become clear to me that I do want to play music, and that I do want to play Argentine tango once again. This is the new beginning of my life.

In this album, I am extremely lucky to have three fantastic pianists to collaborate with, each from different styles of music. They each have different tone colors, touch, rhythm, character and feelings. They approach tango music with different flavors.

This album is the mix of old way and new way of my tango history. Many of the songs are pieces that I used to play with Octavio between 2008 and 2014, and the arrangements of Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) are new repertoire for me in 2016. As a bonus track, I added another version of Oblivion that I recorded with Octavio in 2008, which is from Urban Tango Trio’s first album [ La Pasión ].

I would like to thank especially to three extraordinary talented pianists, Alon Yavnai, Ryo Yanagitani and Ayako Shirasaki. I also would like to thank all supporters, family members, friends to support me to complete this big project in my life.

This album is a tribute to Octavio Brunetti (1975- 2014).
