Addis Ababa (January, 2015) – Israel and Germa-
ny marked the annual International Day, in
memory of the victims of the Holocaust, at the
United Nations compound in Addis Ababa. The
70th year anniversary of the liberation of Ausch-
witz and 50th year anniversary of the initiation of
diplomatic relations between Ger-
many and Israel were marked on
the event. Public lectures were
delivered by Dr. Robert Rozett,
Director of the Yad Vashem Li-
braries and Ambassador Felix
Klein, Special Representative of
the Federal Republic of Germany
for Relations with Jewish Institu-
tions, as part of the event. The
ceremony was based on UN Gen-
eral Assembly adopted resolution (A/RES/60/7) that con-
demns, "without reserve", all manifestations of religious intol-
erance, incitement, harassment or violence against persons or
communities based on ethnic origin or religious belief.
