As a MetroTex member, we want you to be familiar with the social media efforts that the MetroTex Association of REALTORS, Inc. is committed to pursuing as a part of it’s business model. With the help of an outside expert in social media, MetroTex uses social media to promote you, MetroTex’s 13,000 MetroTex members as well as the real estate industry. You don’t need to be a social media expert. Understanding the basics will help you to take advantage of many tools and resources that will help you in your business, and will keep you informed and in touch with the organization’s objectives and goals.

On the following pages, you will learn how to find the MetroTex branded social media sites as well as learn how you can engage in the social media MetroTex. Your engagement is the single most effective way to instantaneously reach an unlimited audience while creating awareness about MetroTex, about your activities and about your involvement in the industry. How can I use it?

“Like” the page and be sure you click on the options to “Get Notifications and “Show in News Feeds”

When you are on Facebook, you will see MetroTex posts to Facebook appear in your news feeds. If you are not on Facebook, you will get a Notification on your smartphone or tablet when MetroTex posts to Facebook.

If you are on Facebook, simply “like” the post. Even better…”Comment” on the post. Your “Likes” and “Comments” immediately go out to all of your Facebook Friends on their news feeds. They in turn can “like” or “comment” to their Facebook Friends.

If a video link is included in the Facebook post, view the video and comment on it.

How can I use it?

“Follow” MetroTex by clicking on the Follow button If you are using the Twitter app on your smartphone or tablet, you can turn on notifications so that you

are notified anytime MetroTex tweets or @mentions you.

On your desktop, hovering over any tweet allows you with one click to reply to the tweet, retweet it to your followers, email the tweet, or even embed it on your website.

This engagement is a great way for you to establish your voice and to instantly gain twitter followers. On your smartphone or tablet, you can do all of the same things as above (reply to the tweet, retweet it

to your followers, email the tweet, etc.) by simply touching the tweet you wish to take action on. The action items are displayed directly under the tweet you select.

How can I use it?

Subscribe to the MetroTex channel by clicking on the Subscribe button YouTube will list your recent activity and the videos you recently watched, however you can also look at

YouTube recommendations on what to watch next, or you can view recent uploads or popular uploads. See what is out there. Get familiar with some of the great videos by watching them!

To make it even easier to find videos on a particular subject matter, MetroTex has created several Playlists. View videos of MetroTex Events, MLS Support and Training, MetroTex Webinar Center, MetroTex Leadership Academy or the MetroTex Committees.

Share the videos you like simply by clicking on the Share link provided below each video:

YouTube automatically creates the link to the video whether you choose to share it by email, or with one click post it on Facebook or Tweet it.

How can I use it?

Share the blogs you like simply by clicking on the link provided at the end of each blog:

Many of the blogs in the A Happy Homeowner category are ideal for sending to your clients. Increase your value and their awareness of you as an industry expert by sending them information they can use with just a few simple clicks.

Blogs found under The MetroTex Message or the REALTOR Resource categories contain timely industry information, links to training or tech tips and items ideal to share with your office and professional colleagues.

You can also comment on blogs. Your comments can be a very useful way for people (think your customers) and search engines to find you.

When you click on the “Share“ link you can automatically email a link to the blog or post to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.

Type “MetroTex” in the search box at the top of the screen and be sure the Pinners tab is highlighted. Click on the MetroTex Association of REALTORS logo

The MetroTex Pinterest account is designed to provide value. The boards MetroTex has created feature events, up to date home statistics and facts, unique open house ideas, design ideas, decorating tips and more…

Click on a Board to see the pins under that Board.

How can I use it?

By hovering over a pin you like, you can easily “Like” it or pin it.

When you pin it, you and your pin automatically show up on the Pinterest Home Feed. Your followers will see this, which creates awareness, builds connections, trust and loyalty in a visual way.

If your followers have notifications set, they will automatically receive a notification when you repin or “like” a pin.

Let your Pinterest account tell your story and establish a personal connection with your followers. You can set notifications to see whenever someone repins or “likes” your pins, comments on your pins, or follows your board(s).

Use Pinterest to create loyal customers…feature a guest pinner once a month. Feature this guest pinner on your Pinterest Board and on your blog along with their pins. Guest pinners bestowed with this honor are likely to become loyal customers of yours and to share the good news with their friends.

Type “MetroTex” in the search box at the top of the screen and be sure you view the search results under the Companies section. Click on the MetroTex Association of REALTORS logo

MetroTex uses LinkedIn for engagement. The page status updates are tied to the overall MetroTex social media campaign. MetroTex shares content as status updates with LinkedIn followers to help to build engagement.

How can I use it?

Follow the MetroTex page on LinkedIn Create community dialogue by “liking”, “commenting” or “sharing” a MetroTex update with one

click.

There are over 200 milliion Linkedin accounts and the average salary of a LinkedIn user is $100,000 per year. When you’re looking for customers, these are people you want to reach.

When you “Share” a MetroTex update, the pop-up window allows you to post it to your LinkedIn updates and/or Tweet it. This allows all of your LinkedIn connections and/or your Twitter followers to see your comments and engage.

To find MetroTex’s FourSquare account on your desktop…

The MetroTex FourSquare account is used to create awareness. It shows how many people are at MetroTex at any given time, how many visitors have visited MetroTex, and total check-ins on FourSquare.

On your desktop you can “Share” the MetroTex location with your friends. When you click on the “Share” link, you can share the Create community dialogue by “liking”, “commenting” or “sharing” a MetroTex update with one click.

How can I use it?

When you are at a MetroTex location, use FourSquare to check-in on your mobile device. Add a comment about why you are there for even more engagement. Any of your FourSquare friends will see your check-in which creates awareness and builds discussion and connections.

Click on the heart icon to “Like” MetroTex. Leave a tip on from your mobile device. By clicking on the link provided you can add tips and comments that your friends will see.

In the future, look for MetroTex specials on FourSquare that will be available to those who check-in, leave tips, or become “Mayor”

Be sure to click on the Twitter and Facebook icons and you will automatically post your check-in on both of these sites
