C3 for Women is a community where women business owners connect, collabo-rate, and create your success. Michelle Martin created C3 for Women to provide support and collaboration opportunities for women in business. By uniting women business owners and giv-ing you an opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and perspectives, she believes you can create more success in your own business.

Connect – build relationships, make new connections, grow your business, and have fun at monthly the JOY of Connect-ing® networking events.

Collaborate – attend monthly Success Events (FREE for Members!), where you’ll learn about a new business topic each month, then participate in our unique Synergy Circle session. This is where you will collaborate and brain-storm ideas with a small group of business women who share similar goals and a commitment to growth.

Need accountability and action part-ners to propel you forward in your busi-ness? Join a Synergy Group, composed of 8-10 women business owners from non-competing industries, who meet monthly with an experienced facilitator.

Create – success doesn’t happen on its own. It takes planning, intentions, and

hard work. C3 for Women workshops and events are designed to give you the tools you need to excel in business and in life. Topics include marketing, organization, social media, and more!

At the annual Celebrating Women in Business Luncheon, you will receive In-spiration and Motivation, as well as joyful Celebration with other women business owners. Mark your calendars for the 2010 luncheon on Friday, May 14th.

What members say about C3 for Women:

“C3 for Women got me out of my home based office and back into the real world. Connect-ing and collaborating in person is empower-ing and I leave each monthly meeting with a new energy and excitement about my busi-ness. I look forward to the events all month.” -- Julia Lilly / 360 Admin - Virtual Assistant

“C3 is a different kind of event. The speakers have been outstanding and very practical for business owners. Having suggestions from people with various viewpoints makes for valuable input. I’m really glad to be a member of C3.” -- Mae Hoover / Professional Speaker and Author

“I enjoyed the collaboration portion of the Success Event! The feedback and different viewpoints were just what I was looking for. It gave me some innovative ideas that I will actually incorporate.” -- Trisha Goode / At Your Service Personal Concierge

According to the Newsweek article Social Media Trends for 2010 social media is still on the rise. Twitter alone has over 7 million unique users and growing monthly. The biggest trend predicted for 2010 is the increased use of social media in corporate marketing structures. The small business sector is not excluded from these trends. Researchers from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth show that small businesses are utilizing social media more than their larger counterparts.

These studies clearly show that social media is here to stay and should be added to your marketing plan in 2010. Here are a few easy steps to get your social media presence started.

1) Get Started. Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In are considered the top three social media sites. Set up accounts on each of these three sites to get your social media pres-ence started. Make sure your profiles are set up professionally including a profes-sional profile picture and company logo, company mission statement, full contact information and links to your website, blog and other social media sites.

2) Build a following. The easiest way to jump start up your social media following is to invite your current contacts to follow your new profiles. Most social media sites allow you to easily upload your email address book

and will automatically locate your con-tacts for you. Once you have a small fol-lowing, start sharing quality information such as company news, upcoming events or links to useful articles. It is equally im-portant to contribute something back to your followers. Be sure and comment on their post or share their posts with your contacts when possible. By following these few steps your social media reputa-tion and following will soon blossom.

3) Measuring your success. Setting goals and measuring your progress will help your social media mes-sage stay on course. Once you decide what you would like to gain from your social media presence, such as increased web traffic or a certain number of quality followers, find the program you need to measure it. Simple, free tools such as Facebook Stats, Twitazlyer and Google Analytics will get you started. Check your stats monthly to see if you are reaching your goal. If not, use the information to change your message and how you interact online.

4) Get Help. If setting up and starting your social media accounts seems too overwhelming or you just need help managing it all, look into hiring a social media experienced Virtual Assistant. A quality Virtual As-sistant can become a true partner in your company’s success online.

Julia Lilly is the owner of 360 Admin. She is a professional virtual assistant who assists small to mid-sized businesses with their social media presence by providing start- up consultation or daily account management. Visit her on the web at www.360admin.com.

Have you ever given a speech and won-der: “Did I connect? Did my message make sense? Did my words benefit the audience?” In order to navigate through business and life successfully; you must be able to con-nect with your audience.

The purpose of this article is to share with you a strategy you can use to imme-diately improve your communication on a daily basis, so each time you speak in public, connection becomes easier!

You can’t begin to persuade your audi-ence to look at your perspective….unless you can first see theirs. The beauty of the 3-P Strategy you are about to learn is that you can use this strategy during your everyday activities, and prepare for your next presen-tation….all at the same time!

3-P Strategy is a systematic plan for blending your package called “you”, your information, and your audience together to create sizzling synergy! When you offer relevant information, and you exhibit a true enthusiasm, plus you are sensitive to the wants and needs of your audience … the impact is dynamic! You become a presenter who communicates effectively, and you receive the respect (and ears), of your audi-ence.

You are probably thinking…..”OK, all of this sounds great, but how do I do it?” The simple answer is balance. Balance the PUR-POSE of your message, with the common threads that tie your unique PASSION to the concept of the PEOPLE in your audience.

3-P Checklist

Purpose:Why am I sharing this information? How will my message benefit my audience? How does it relate to my audience? Are my main points clear and concise?Do I make it easy for my audience to remem-ber my main message?

Passion:What do I have a strong interest in?Does it have anything to do with what my audience needs? What is my core authenticity?Do I convey an authentic enthusiasm? How can this inspire my audience?Do I believe my passion will be heard and felt by my audience? How? Why?Does my message convey a combination of values and ideals that are relative?

People:What do both the people in my audience, and myself, have a strong interest in?How do these interests meet?Do my words help my audience strengthen their capabilities? What are their feelings/thoughts/opinions?How can I find out more about my audi-ence? Survey? Interaction? Feedback?

Parting thoughts for you… What aspect of your authenticity does your audience need to be reminded of?Are you so busy that it is difficult to see how you can put your package together? Would you like to cut your speech prepara-tion time in half?
