Women For Change Coaching CommunityMary is a hardworking, single mom who’s going back to school to enhance her employability (names have been changed to protect confidentiality). Susan is a new college grad who is underemployed and looking for a job in her field of study. Tracy is re-entering the workforce after leaving an abusive relationship and striking out on her own. All of these women have something in common. They are all striving to make positive, sustainable change in their lives and are working toward achieving their goals. Additionally, all have been paired with a coach from Women For Change Coaching Community (W4C3) to accelerate their progress.According to the International Coach Federation (ICF), “there are many wonderful benefits associated with professional coaching.” Individuals who work with a professional coach “can expect to experience:

• fresh perspectives on personal challenges and opportunities,

• enhancedthinkinganddecision making skills,

• enhancedinterpersonaleffectiveness,and

• increasedconfidenceincarryingouttheir chosen work and life roles.”

A coach won’t tell you what to do or give you all of the answers, but they will be objective, non-judgmental, an excellent listener, and help you to uncover the strategies and steps to move forward that work best for you. Unfortunately, despite the many benefits of professional coaching, it is often cost prohibitive to many who could gain the most from these benefits, especially women.

Launched in 2012, W4C3 was founded to reach out to women deprived of access to coaching services who are ready to work with acoachtoaffectpositivechangeintheirlives.Rev. Dr. Patricia Suggs, an Associate Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation, owner of LifeJourney Coaching, LLC and past

W4C3 coach believes that W4C3 is: “a wonderful opportunity for women who couldn't otherwise afford coaching. Coaching is so essential to our development. It would be wonderful if all women, especially women who own businesses or are thinking of starting one, could have access to coaching. For women who want to do something really great with their lives, any opportunity to work in that arena is a privilege and exciting for me."

Women in the U.S. and Canada with an annual household adjusted gross income of $40,000 or less are eligible to submit an application. W4C3 utilizes only professionally trained coaches that are affiliated with the International Coach Federation or the International Association of Coaches. The process to become a coaching client in the W4C3 program is simple. Interested women, who satisfy the basic program eligibility requirements, may apply online at the W4C3 website. Each application is reviewed and once approved, the client

is notified of acceptance into the program and directed to complete an orientation and coaching registration process. One round of coaching includes 12 weekly sessions

between client and coach and is available to the client for only $35. This nominal fee helps the client to feel invested in her own success. Clients are matched based on several criteria including geographic location and type of coaching requested. Because coaching sessions are delivered via phone or Skype, W4C3 coaches and clients can be located anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Inadditiontocoachingsessions,W4C3offersregular workshops at no additional charge for active clients on topics such as money management, job search, empowerment and self-esteem. FOR WHOM WILL YOU BRUSH OFF THE SNOW?Reprint of Previous Article

My day begins with a delicious, strong cup of coffee(ortwo)andaquiettime.Thesetimesareearly, most often before the sun comes peeking through pearly clouds and shining in my kitchen window. They have become more special to me as the years have passed. One morning, I was looking out the picture window in our family room, during such a time, lost in my thoughts and prayers. I noticed as the sun came up that a large snow had fallen through the night. It was a beautiful wet snow, stuck on everything in sight. Our popular bird feeder was covered. It is a feeder that consists of a long, clear tube with holes in the sides all around and a perch at every hole. There is a dish at the bottom for the birds to gather and rest. I noticed that the seven inches of snow was piled high all around the dish of the bird feeder, so high that none of the food was accessible to any of the birds. I then noticed our resident redbird fly to the feeder and start to hop all around the sides of thefeeder, knockingoffthewallofsnowwhich

had accumulated. It took him quite some time and a tremendouseffortto hop round and round knocking offthesnowashewent. I thought to myself, he must be very hungry to be so aggressively knockingoffthesnow and getting cold and wet in the process. As I watched him finish the job, much to my surprise,

hejumpedoffwithout eating a morsel and allowed all the other small birds, who were waiting, to eat first. After the small birds had finished, he flew back and started to eat. It was such a simple, selfless act from a brilliantly red bird, but I have not forgotten this example of how we should live.

Forwhomwillyoubrushoffthesnow?Iamsurethat you have loved ones you care about and for whom you want to provide, even after you are gone. One of the best ways to do that is to make sure your estate is in order. It, too, is a relatively simple, selfless and inexpensive process when you see the right legal professional, an attorney who has concentrated his or her law practice on estate planning. After this work is complete, you will be surprised at the peace you will feel, knowing that you have taken care of your loved ones, brushedoffthesnowforthem, sotospeak.Only then, can you turn your heart and mind to the things in this life that are truly important to leave behind.

Gratitude is an expression of thanks for gifts we have received. Scientists are finding that an attitude of gratitude is a powerful contributor to a happy life. Some believe that it may be the single mosteffectivewaytoincreasehappiness.

The idea of receiving a gift is central to the concept of gratitude. While merely appreciating something for its positive qualities does have a positive impact on our lives and emotions, gratitude takes the next step beyond. Gratitude happens when we go beyond just appreciating something to acknowledging that we have received a gift that we did nothing to earn or deserve. On some level, the warm emotional rush we feel when we really feel gratitude is very much like the glow we feel from realizing we are unconditionally loved.

Research shows that practicing an attitude of gratitude may be the fastest single pathway to happiness, health, long life, and prosperity. It has been found that people who keep a list or a gratitude journal report a great life satisfaction. They exercise more, enjoy life more and their families and friend notice that they are nicer to be around. People who take the time to admire and appreciate the good things that come their way through grace, luck or the goodness of others are happier and more peaceful.

Grateful people typically do better on cognitive tests and have great problem-solving skills. They practice healthier habits, have better relationships, are more optimistic, and live longer. Gratitude is a powerful basic human emotion.

Think about this: we are wearing clothes others made for us, eating food others

grew and prepared for us, using tools others designed and fabricated and taught us how to use, and are even speaking words others defined and explained. The list goes on and on... Any verb we can think of -- sleep, play, drive, work, watch, bathe -- can be followed by a phrase attributing the action to some supporting role by others. There really is nothing we do that is thankstoourowneffortsalone!

We can distinguish between feeling grateful and being grateful. Feeling grateful is a response to a benefit, while being grateful is a way of life. Gratitude has the power to heal, to energize, and to change lives.

Developing gratitude is surprisingly easy. Here are five proven methods:

1. Keep a gratitude journal. Every day write about the good things that happened to you that day.

2. Write a letter of appreciation. Take two minutes each day and send a quick email or text to people who have helped you.

3. Make a gratitude visit. Gratitude is a powerful emotion for both the giver & receiver. Deliver your message in person.

4. Make a gratitude list. Each day create a list 3 to 5 things you are grateful for and WHY you are grateful for them.

5. Take a gratitude walk. Focus on deepening your gratitude as the movement and variety of walking helps your brain and heart to work better.

Start today and you can enjoy a happier life now!

The greatest gift I can give to my patients is to help them achieve their “Natural Best”. Natural, by definition means, “nothing artificial, unusual, or unexpected”. These words are not typically thought of as synonymous with cosmetic surgery. Many stereotypes and false impressions exist surrounding cosmetic surgery results. I have changed this perception and developed customized treatment combinations that allow patients to look their best “naturally”. “Your Natural Best” is a unique and individualized treatment combination that I have developed and designed to enhance my patient’s natural features. The combination therapy creates balance, symmetry, and an overall picture of excellent health. It is unique and will mean something differentforeveryperson. In some cases, “Your Natural Best” will be a completely non-surgical treatment plan involving skincare, aesthetics, injectables, and laser therapy. In other cases, “Your Natural Best” will be a combination of a surgical, non-surgical, and aesthetic treatments based on individual specific goals. Treatments to Achieve “Your Natural Best” When I meet with a patient for the first time, most often, their main goal is to improve their skin and overall appearance. This is not a surprise since our skin is a direct reflection of our overall health and vitality. We all work towards achieving bright, smooth, and healthy complexions with minimal wrinkling, lines, and sagging. Many of my patients also work hard at staying in shape. When factors beyond our control leave us with fat deposits and sagging skin, it can be disheartening after working so hard to achieve a toned physique. My goal is to help all my patients achieve their goals and look natural. Non-Surgical Combination Therapy My approach to “Your Natural Best” is individual and customized for each person’s specific skin and improvement goals. Some need laser treatments followed by a simple aesthetics regimen. Others require a higher

level of treatment to improve their skin. In these situations, non-invasive or minimally invasive laser therapies to blend age or sunspots, reduce pore size, control acne, improve skin tone and quality is an excellent choice. I will often combine laser therapy with injectables or other minimally invasive options to smooth lines around the mouth, eyes, plump sunken cheeks, and plump lost lip volume. Additional methods that work well for patientsandofferlong-lastingandnaturaloptions are cellular therapy and autologous fat injections. This helps improve scars, lines, wrinkles, and overall tone and quality. Advanced Combination TherapyAt some point, the extent of gravitational changes defines when surgery is the only way to accomplish goals. When skin on your face of body is sagging beyond what can be corrected with a laser or other type of therapy, I will use the latest endoscopic treatment or minimally invasive options to restore youth to skin and muscles. Surgical treatments are often followed up with advanced laser treatments to further refine skin and enhance the quality and skin tone. The combinations, timing, and treatments are unique and customized for each individual to provide optimal and natural results. To learn more about improving your digestive and colon health call Cleansing Waters - a Colon Hydrotherapy and Body Ecology Center dedicated to empowering the individual in reclaiming health and wellness in a natural and sensible manner. 317-259-0796.

Our current growing awareness of the state

of the world’s ecology appears to be coinciding with a reawakening of our understanding of the body’s “inner” ecology. On-going research continues to find that the 3-4 lbs of friendly live bacteria (microflora) residing in our 25 feet of intestines appear to directly act with our immune system.

When the inner ecosystem of the intestinal tract is well-established with healthy microflora, one will experience better digestion, proper elimination, improved assimilation of nutrients, and slow the aging process while decreasing the rate of some degenerative diseases. However, toxic overload and poor waste removal promotes stress and symptoms such as bloating, gas, depression, headaches, skin rashes, irritability, and joint and muscle pain.

In a healthy environment the microflora can thrive and repopulate – keeping our immune system strong. Unfortunately, the standard American diet (SAD), with an emphasis on high animalprotein, acidicbeveragessuchascoffee, sports drinks and sodas, processed sugar and wheat products, prescription drugs and overuse of antibiotics lead to an inner ecology composed mostly of pathogenic bacteria, yeast and systemic fungal infections – the hidden invaders. One well-known yeast organism, candida albicans, has been around for thousands of years, but only in modern times has it overtaken and compromised our immunity. A quick quiz can determine if candidiasis is troubling you.

Many natural health practitioners are advocating the use of traditional foods and beverages. These include cultured vegetables (similar to sauerkraut), young coconut water kefir, milk kefir, kombucha, and miso. These “superfoods” added to a diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, and ionized water creates the alkaline environment to rebalance and repopulate the levels of good bacteria for optimal health.

It is easy to have unrealistic expectations for the holidays because you want them to be like a "Hallmark Moment" and typically they are not. The reality of the situation is that most people try to cram too much into the holidays and it leaves them feeling fragmented and depleted. There seems to be a universal hope that family members will be able to come to events and more importantly that everyone invited will behave themselves. Unfortunately, the holidays can prove challenging because of these unrealistic expectations.

Sotoday'scolumnisgoingtoremindyou to keep your expectations realistic. You know that you can only control your feelings and reactions to what is happening in your life so I would encourage you to use the all encompassing Serenity Prayer to navigate you through the next couple of months. I find that the Serenity Prayer is a great reminder of what you can do in any situation. Here is a refresherincaseyoucan'trecallit:

The Serenity PrayerGod, grant me the Serenity to accept the things that I cannot Change, courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the Difference. Reinhold Niebuhr

This is a wonderful coping statement for any situation because it reminds you that only you have the power to change your feelings and reactions to things.

Let'sfaceit, astheholidaysapproach, youmay already be anticipating the family conflicts or problems that may arise. In today'sworldofblendedfamiliesandhectic schedules it can be difficult to have the family get-togethers that you experienced as a kid. As a life coach I would encourage you to put together a holiday plan that works for you regardless of the outcome. If kids have to arrive late enjoy who is there at your home and stop worrying about when to serve the meal. If there is family discord, remind yourself

that the only thing you can control is how you relate your clan and focus on that. If someone has a drinking problem and you anticipate that being a problem, you get to decide whether you will serve alcoholornot.Youcan'tmakeitperfectforeveryone so tell yourself that you are going to have the nicest gathering that you can and then let go of the outcome because when people have a certain outcome in mind they often times feel disillusioned whenitdoesn'tworkoutexactlyastheywould like. This can leave them feeling disappointed and as if their event was a failure.

Remember to stay in the moment. Whether you are visiting someone or preparing for an event, you will have a better time if you stay in the moment and enjoy what is occurring before you. Again, when you focus on your experience you have better coping skills that will carry you through the holidays. Mothers and grandmothers often want perfection for their holidays and that justisn'tarealisticexpectation.

Now cut out this column and put it somewhere that you can view frequently. I always encourage my clients to memorize the Serenity Prayer because it comes in handy whenever you need to decipher what you can control and what you can't.Andwhenallelsefails, practicedetachment which is the art of staying in the moment but keeping expectations realistic. I promise your holidays will go smoother if you enjoy the moment and detach from the outcome!

The story of HCG began in the Fifties when, after having done research on weight loss for 40 years and research on HCG specifically for twenty years, Dr. Simeons reported that patients taking small amounts of HCG, in conjunction with a very low calorie diet, could lose weight safely and quickly without exercise, muscle loss or hunger.

But all HCG is not created equal. The Pounds and Inches Away program starts with pharmaceutical HCG. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of confusion created by products being sold without guidance that call themselves “HCG” but do not contain any in their ingredient list. HCG is one of 67 hormones naturally produced in the human body, so if a product states that it is hormone free. HCG does produce weight loss by itself. However, in concert with a very specific balanced diet, and our help in avoiding unexpected environmental or behavioral deviations, HCG will allow the body to naturally pull the nutrients and calories needed from stored fat reserves into the blood stream at the rate of 1500 to 4000 calories per day.We are sure that those who follow our protocol WILL lose 20-30 pounds in 40 days. These fantastic results ARE typical with our full service packages. The Pounds and Inches Away program is not your run of the mill “eat less and exercise more” diet for a slow loss of 1 to 2 pounds a week that seems to take the rest of your life. Our protocol tricks Mother Nature a little, maybe, however only natural processes are at work.PerDr.Simeons,itissafeandsoveryeffective.

Carolyn's StoryAbout a year ago, I’d given up on ever losing the weight I had put on over the past 10 years. I tried everything out there and nothing worked. One day I saw an ad for Pounds and Inches Away in Castleton. I called them and decided to try their HCG Weight Loss Program.

I started the program in September of 2012and was amazed how easily the weight came off. The staff at Pounds and Inches Away were very supportive and helpful. They were always available to answer my questions. They even called me to help with my accountability. Yes, I had to follow the program, but with their direction I was able to lose weight and keep it off. I completed two rounds between Labor Day 2012 and Easter 2013 – and I lost 52 lbs. Losing the weight made me realize – I wasn’t as old as I felt! My blood pressure is down, my cholesterol is improving. My health, overall, is significantly improved from a year ago. It wasn’t easy, but it was absolutely worth it. I feel alive again and it’s all because I walked into Pounds and Inches Away Castleton and let them get me started on a new path.

Hilton's Story I was significantly overweight. My doctor was concerned that my weight would cause certain health problems as I aged. Pounds and Inches Away helped me lose 70 pounds over the course of six months! I found the program during the first 40 days to be easy and safe. I learned to eat much healthier and that was something my wife and I wanted to do for years. I followed the suggested meals, measuring the protein consistently. I had an apple as a snack in the afternoon or evening as well as learned to drink water. The maintenance period offered the opportunity to get reintroduced to some of the other foods that I liked, but in moderation. I have been able to maintain my weight since stopping with the drops. One highlight is that I have not had a Coke or Pepsi in over 19 months! Kathryn and her team are very supportive and helpful. The Pounds and Inches Away regime works, is safe, and you will love the results!
