Dear Colleague
“We know we have to work with them, it’s where everyone is, but we’re experimenting with how.”
“It’s like working with Facebook and Twitter six years ago; but, back then you measured only based on likes or how many followers.”
Two phrases I’ve heard from dozens and dozens of marketing executives in the research for this conference…. If you read the digital media, it is obvious that messaging apps have gone through the ceiling in the last 3 years. They are massive, providing free messaging and often free voice and video calls. WhatsApp, the leader, has 700m+ accounts and its daily messages alone exceed standard text messages sent. Everyone’s waiting to see what Facebook does next with their messenger platform and whatsapp too.
WeChat, Line and Kakaotalk in Asia have proven that there’s more to messaging apps than messages. Each have expanded their platforms into multi-faceted apps where third parties have developed content including games, ticketing, sales of flights, hotels, groceries - you name it.
Each app has its geographic stronghold and a slightly different business model and demographic, so understanding how to tie the RIGHT one into your marketing strategy is critical.
Messaging apps buck the trend for one to many broadcast advertising on social platforms like Youtube and Facebook, having been designed as private one to one or one to few communication platforms. Their popularity make them on the one hand an unmissable opportunity for enterprise to reach and engage audiences and on the other a tough new channel to navigate with scarce analytics or diagnostics. On some platforms a lot of manual work is required in a space where marketers are used to having automated systems with abundant analytics to justify spend.
That’s why we’re hosting the Messaging Apps Conference 2015 this year in London, UK.
Attending Messaging Apps 2015 brings you together with dozens of Heads of Digital and Mobile who understand the relative benefits of working with the different platforms and the results each have delivered plus the content formats used to engage customers.
Join Coca Cola, Paddy Power and Groupon to figure out how much investment goes to each social platform, and hear from the WSJ, the Guardian and the BBC to discover how media outlets are engaging younger audiences and how they’re using video. Listen to how Clarks have been broadening brand appeal by telling their unique story on Whatsapp, and to a panel of media students talking about what they do and don’t want from the messaging apps they use every day.
You can register online at www.messagingappevent.com, by emailing us at [email protected] or by calling us at +44 (0)3696 2920. We have special early bird discounts which can save you hundreds and offer an unmatched quality of networking and business opportunity.
