2012 Top Call Nominations
Do you know an employee who goes above and beyond the duties of their position at Medic? Do you know someone who
has a positive attitude about their job and loves being a member of this Agency?
Nominations will be accepted for employees from across the Agency that represent what it means to be an Unsung Hero.
Nominees should consist of those employees who lift up their peers and coworkers, love working for Medic and their
position, are excited to do their work and are very patient/community driven. The Unsung Hero is a humble employee who
leads by example; a silent leader. Nominees can be from any department across the entire Agency.
Don’t let your coworker go unnoticed for the work they do at Medic, nominate him/her for a 2012 Unsung

In February of 2012 some concerns were raised by employees about the new style of ambulances chassis and the number
of changes it contained in comparison to the older style. We listened to those concerns and together, Bryan Edwards,
Operations and Risk and Safety have modified the latest ambulances to fit your feedback and suggestions.
Moving forward, you can expect to see the following changes on the newest Medic ambulances:
Vehicle Modifications
The Quality Improvement Department is currently
conducting a small scale test of change involving our
focused CPR protocol. The purpose of this field test is to
validate a change concept developed in the simulation
center.
This change involves the Fire Captain acting as a CPR coach
while compressions are being delivered, with a goal of
further improving CPR quality. The test stations are CFD
stations 6, 42, 15 and 13. This test will last until May 15,
2013. If you run a cardiac arrest with one of these stations,
be prepared for the Fire Captain to actively give
compression feedback and count to 10 when compressions
are not being performed. The results of this test will be
shared during May InService. For questions, please contact
Medic would like to extend a warm congratulations to Relief Operations Supervisor Siobhan Klass! Siobhan will represent Medic at this year’s 2013 Burnette/Nobles Emergency Services Award Banquet on Tuesday, May 7th. Siobhan has been a valuable asset to Medic for many years and is a dedicated advocate for her patients. She provides excellent customer service on a consistent basis. Congratulations Siobhan on your 2013 Burnette/Nobles Emergency Services Award!
Congratulations!
