Oreo continues to use their brand image with the colours, blue and white and there logo which is the name of the product in block 3d white letters. They also include the slogan ‘Milks Favourite Cookie’ to catch the consumers attention with it being short and snappy. In the advert there use young children to sell the brand to give the product a cute factor. The use of humour is a very clever way of selling the brand as people will enjoy watching the advert so will be therefore more inclined to buy the product. This is certainly an advert that can be watched many times and is one that people do remember.

MUSIC BRANDING

Branding in the music industry is used to differentiate between similar music styles, by looking to the artist themselves.

The way an artist is branded can affect how their audience feels about them, and is a way to attract a certain audience in the first place.

A brand for an artist is created through their consistent image, style,mise-en-scene of music videos and artwork and their personality. This brand image may change slightly over time to reflect changes of the artist e.g. them growing up.

A successful brand image will be apparent in all of the artists work and will create a clear idea of that artist in the mind of the audience, so if they see the artists album, they will immediately know who it belongs to.

Example of Music Branding

From the album cover and stills from her music video, you can quite easily tell that both are connected. A clear brand is created through the use of costumes, setting and colour schemes.

Music Branding Research

Through analysing both ‘Somebody To Love’ and ‘One Time’ and also both album covers by Justin Bieber, there is an obvious clear trend. The music video’s may be different, but there is a clear iconography in both through the use of image such as the dark clothing and the signature hairstyle. The colour scheme is also very similar in both music videos as you can see from the stills along with sound also.

Both Album covers are similar in branding. Both display a picture of Justin Bieber not smiling more showing attitude. The colour white is present in both for his name/title of album and a bold colour is used for the title of song/name. The name of the album hasn’t changed only for the 2.0 to show its his second album, this suggests that’s his style of music hasn’t changed.

The brand image of our chosen artist is Urban, Grunge, Pop. the urban grunge aspect of her image gives her a sharp realistic edge to her music and appearance. how ever the pop aspect stops her from being too obscure and more clean cut. She possesses the essence of the "good girl gone bad" stereotype yet she still appears to have the air of innocence. Our artist is based on grunge pop artists such as; Dizzee Rascal, Nicki Minaj and Katy B.

Urban, Grunge, PopThroughout our print production and music video our colour scheme is pink, black and white. The pink and white reflects the ‘pop’ side to our artist which is then contrasted with the darker colour’s of black/grey to represent the urban grunge.

Our Brand Image

We used studio location for our music video and print to portray our ‘pop’ genre.

For our music video, we used to studio so we could use green screen which allowed us to select any background image of our choice, which was pink which followed with our colour scheme

We also used the studio to shoot our images for our print work to give the audience that familiarity so when they looked at either the music video or the print they would know that both are connected
