PRODUCT?

Media Institution

• My music magazine will be published by IPC Media. They claim to be the UK's leading consumer magazine and digital publisher. IPC Media already publish successful publications such as NME, Marie Claire and TV & Satellite so will be well known to my target audience. This also gives off a good impression to the audience as it shows that my music magazine will also be successful like these other publications.

Media Institution• IPC Media publishes NME and Uncut magazine which are sister

publications. My music magazine would stand aside from these existing media publications because it is primarily aimed at a female target audience.

Price• My magazine will be priced at £2.20. This is competitive with rival

magazines such as Q which is priced at £3.90 and NME which is priced at £2.40. As my magazine is priced cheaper than the other two hopefully this will encourage the audience to purchase my music magazine.

£2.20 £2.40 £3.90

Distribution: Website• My music magazine will be distributed as a print version and on

the internet. My music magazine will have a website with past articles on there and other frequently updated news. There will also be a chance for the audience to purchase the digital copy of the magazine to have on there phone/tablet to read easily where ever and whenever. I have included the URL address for my magazines website on the front cover, contents page and double page spread to remind the audience about the website.

Distribution: Social Media• Using a social network allows my audience to favourite/like, retweet/share or

comment on tweets and posts the editor of the magazine may write. It also allows them to discuss current matters that the magazine may address with other readers. Hashtags could also be used to create a discussion so on features that can provoke opinions, a hashtag will be given on the page of that feature for the audience to go away and talk about on Twitter.

• Using social media allows my magazine to instantly contact my audience as they will be able to access their Twitter or Facebook account on their phones whenever and wherever they are.

Logos of the social media sites are recognisable to the audience so are used to attract their attention
