Our design team at MCID has experience from many years in the sign industry. We cut our teeth with fabrication giants building the signs you drive by everyday. In the beginning of our exposure to the industry, we learned to design via drafting to blue printsand watched as we grew with the industry bringing us routing tables, LED lighting, Laser and water jets,new substrates, channel letter machines and yes, computers capable of helping us design the imaginable.
Today, times have changed. Industry’s are working together with other design teams to achieve what was once done all turnkey in a fabrication facility. MCID is that design team that provides the sign Fabricators, Developers and Architecture firms the partnership needed.Assisting in community development such as downtown revitalization, landscape improvements and infrastructure improvements.Design is what we do and design is what we provide. At MCID we know how to design to build, that is why we are paramount in the industry providing complete documents from conceptual renderings and precise construction documents to the finest of detail and planning.

BIOGRAPHY
Jim started in signs in 1992 for a small sign shop in Shingle Springs California. An electrical sign company in Diamond Springs CA. brought Jim on and taught him the ways of drafting, design and engineering, fabrication and install.
“There were no computers, no programs, no channel letter machines. There was you, you brought in the job, drafted it onto blue print and cut the materials on a band saw. Western taught me all aspects of the sign industry and helped me develop my skills.”
Jim joined a company in Oakland CA in 1996 where he continued to build skills and relationships that led him to design in community development, gateways and refurbishment studies of old iconic signs and structures. His conservative yet creative views of signs attracted clients to manage large scale projects providing a niche for Jim in the sign industry. He founded Milestone Design Works and later merged with My Crime In Design to expand with the growing clientele.

BIOGRAPHY
Visual Arts came to Miguel at an early age. With parental support and guidance, Miguel was set on a path to become a graphic designer later building his college studies in drafting and structure design.
Miguel developed industry skills in civil engineering, commercial and hospitality design. These experiences brought Miguel to the sign industry in 1995 for a fabricatorin Long Beach, CA.
“I quickly found the sign industry to be a good fit for me.Signs bring a blend of artistic creativity and an understandingof fabrication, engineering and installation. I enjoy the disciplines and challenges this industry brings.”
Miguel has become recognized as a specialist in sign design and construction documents. Architects, Sign fabricators,Designers and Engineers now come to MCID to develop ideas using his skills to complete their project.
