A Message from the President
Hello APICS Fox Valley Chapter Members!
It just seems like yesterday we had out first PDM of the year on a beautiful early fall evening at Robbins in Oshkosh.
The year flew by very fast and once again I want to keep up with tradition and use my last message of the program year
to take the opportunity to thank the Board of Directors for all of the hard work this past year to provide outstanding
learning and networking opportunities. I want to thank all of our PDM speakers for taking time out of their busy
schedules to share their knowledge and expertise with our members. I want to thank our instructors for teaching the
APICS Body of Knowledge to our members who are on their certification journey. I want to extend congratulations to
the newly elected board of directors for the 2012 - 2013 program year and thank them for stepping up to serve our
chapter. We will have some new faces joining the board and I look forward to working with them in the future. Inside
this edition, you will find pictures from Top Management Night. This meeting was a great event that started with a tour
of the Miles Kimball Company distribution center. I want to thank Maureen Gneiser and the rest of the team at Miles
Kimball Company for allowing us to tour their facility and for giving us goody bags of mementos to remember the day. I
would also like to thank Bill Levesque for sharing his presentation about the evolution of the supply chain at Miles
Kimball.
I always look forward to top management night because we get the opportunity to recognize our members for their
accomplishments during the year. I extend my congratulations to Connie Mitchell CPIM for being selected member of
the year. Also, congratulations to all of those who earned their certification this past year or reached a membership
anniversary milestone.
I am amazed how fast three years can fly by. This will be my last Presidents letter as Jody Suess and Sue Schleis will
now have the honor of serving the members of our chapter as co-presidents. I look forward to supporting our chapter in
the role of Past President and VP of MIS. I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the members for supporting
our chapter by attending our Professional Development Meetings and for attending our certification review classes.
Please watch our website for our APICS Certification review class schedules. Fall will be here before you know it and
classes will be starting up once again. Please mark your calendars for our first PDM that will be held on September 12 th
at LaSure’s in Oshkosh. I am also excited to announce that we will have a business tour of Baldor Generators Company
of Oshkosh, WI on November 15th. Many of you expressed your desire for more business tours when completing our
annual member survey. We are working hard to meet the desires of our membership. We will have more details about
the tour in the fall.
I wish all of you a safe and fun filled summer. We look forward to seeing you in the fall.
Please see the list of APICS course descriptions on the next page. Information on educational offerings
will be coming in the August edition.
