The hospital has a separate store and purchase section under Material Management that also take care of equipments, the Purchase section is directly supervise by purchase officer and stores by the store officer the store keeper and the other stuff function under section the Purchase section is responsible for compilation of all demands finalisation of specification floating of tender enquiry placement of supply order monitoring of liabilities.

An annual physical stock verification:

Annual physical stock verification of all words tools departments unit is done by the deputy officers within Hospital the ground balance is checked with the balance in stock ledgers and entries are checked and initiated major losses and heavy surplus and noted and informed to the head of Institution .

Condemnation Of Equipments And Articles :

A condemnation board is constituted to condemn the non consumable items and certify after proper scrutiny of records physical inspection unserviceable records its exams each Water Department maintains proper records of all the items condemned and do proper and trees in there ledger book. The condemned articles are stayed and disposed off as per the policy of hospitals.

EFFECT OF SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE IN PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTIONS IN KENYA,2014,MANAGEMENT RESEARCH ARTICLE , PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTIONS IN KENYA

ABSTRACT : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of supplies and equipment management practices on organizational performance in public health institutions in Kenya. The specific objectives were to establish: the effect of supplies and equipment shrinkage, supplies and equipment investment, supplies and equipment turnover, and supplies and equipment records accuracy on organizational performance of Kenyatta National hospital: A descriptive case study design was used. Statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS. The study revealed that supplies and equipment investment and supplies and equipment records accuracy have a positive influence on organizational performance while supplies and equipment shrinkage have a negative effect on organizational performance of Kenyatta National hospital thus this study recommends that the hospital should ensure that losses resulting to supplies and equipment shrinkage related to medicines are reduced. This can be done by ensuring that supplies and equipment records are accurately kept. The hospital need to manage its supplies and equipment investment by ensuring that the right amount of stock is kept at all times

 Abstract:The American healthcare sector has experimented with different types of integrated supply chain management systems for medical supplies. In the 1980s, US distributors were offering customers the so‐ called stockless replenishment method, whereby the distributor picks and packs products according to the particular needs of each patient care unit and in most cases, delivers them directly.

By the late 1990s, stockless agreements had run out of steam,As distributors sought to optimize the balance between their efforts expended in hospital replenishment and the hospitals’ inventory savings. However, it also reveals the importance of the manufacturer’s role with respect to packing formats, and demonstrates that the rearrangement of storage areas can generate substantial savings, opening the way to means for improving the healthcare sector supply chain.

ABSTRACT : In any organization the supplies and equipment of materials plays vital role in working capital management. A small saving in the supplies and equipment will reflect a vital margin in profit of the organization. Supplies and equipment control means the availability of right materials of right quantities coordinated with lead time. Each and every component of supplies and equipment is important and managing the inventories to keep in an optimum level is a must. Being an auto ancillary industry IPPL is facing a stiff competition in the market. Since supplies and equipment is the major part of their cost of production there is a need for supplies and equipment control by way of reducing cost and optimum utilization of materials. Though the company is having certain policies regarding this, still it requires through study of their policy and systems to some extent to understand the supplies and equipment management. .The import components are contributing nearly 25% of the total production cost. The present order quantity is very high with some items which cause the problem of over stocking.
