Every person in the world has his own Motherland. It is a place where he has been living from his birth. As for us, we have such a place too. It is Gornyi.

Gornyi is situated on the river Sakma. It covers the area of 2400 square kilometers.It is the first largest settlement with a population of more than 7000 people.

It was a miner,s settlement, where the miners mine shale oil. In 1954 shale oil miners stopped his existence. The mining of shale oil were disadvantageous.

Now it is a modern village. Gornyi is a district centre.  

Here was built the first plant by distruction of chemical weapons in

2001. 

Our school is the place, where we get high-quality education. It was opened in 1977. We like to study because we get a lot of interesting information. The children have classes usually according to their age, sometimes according to their interests.

There are a lot of monuments in Gornyi. In the centre of the settlement there is a square with a monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War which were the inhabitants of Krasnopartizansk area. Meetings are usually held there.

There are many cafes and small shops in Gornyi. There is also a large street and several big shops. Many people think that it is great-cinema, shops and sport centres.
