One of the most anticipated events each year is International Day. This year, we celebrated it on March 26th. Our Spanish teacher, Mrs. Carmen Rodriguez,

assigns each grade a country to research.

In 2019, we learned about: Belize (3rd Grade)

Mexico (K3) U.S.A. (K4)

Dominican Republic (4th Grade)

Nigeria (6th Grade) Uruguay (K5)

El Salvador (5th Grade)

Scotland (7th Grade) Vietnam (8th Grade)

Italy (2nd Grade)

Switzerland (1st Grade)

The students create posters,

plan displays and practice native

dances.

When International Day arrives, they share all of their new knowledge about the country with their fellow students, sometimes even dressing in their country’s

finery.

Each student is given a “passport,” and they receive a stamp in it from each country as they go from display to display.

We really wouldn’t be able to do it without the help of all of our terrific parents and grandparents!
