These are practices fully integrated throughout the teaching and learning process. It is the role of a school to effectively meet the personal, social (wellbeing) and academic needs of students, parents and staff. The Pastoral Care Department at the Kalyani School deals with Mental Health Concerns. The process of work takes place in different areas like Counselling and Special Education Needs with respect to students and staff. We have two School Counsellors and two Special Educators on board for taking care of our elementary, primary and senior sections. Their work involves helping, mentoring, and guiding students in developing and identifying themselves as responsible individuals. The student creates his/her own coping mechanism without constantly needing adult supervision. The Pastoral Care as a team conduct multiple workshops and group sessions for our students, staff and parents. The pastoral care works on promoting the child’s personal and social development, fostering a positive attitude that helps them to take healthy risks, set goals and become self-motivated.
