This holiday package comprises of hands-on activities which would enable you to attain personal fulfillment by getting to know yourself and your surroundings better with greater joy. Do learn in a variety of ways-through experience, making and doing things, experimentation, reading, discussion, asking, listening, thinking and reflecting, and expressing yourself in speech or writing both individually and with others. Learning takes place both within school and outside school. Participate in social and environmental projects. Be innovative! Work independently, collaboratively and harmoniously. GUIDELINES FOR SUMMER VACATION PACKAGE 2013
CLASSES II TO VII
1. Indulge yourself in various activities- Sports, swimming, dance,aerobics, yoga, acting, singing. Explore your hobbies and discoveryour talent.
2. Brisk walk, jogging, running, laughing, skipping, meditation and, of
course, eating healthy will rejuvenate your body and make you fit.
3. Pick up a newspaper or a magazine everyday and build awareness about
your surroundings. Try to find five new and interesting words each day
and find their meanings to use them appropriately in your daily
conversation.
4. One of the simplest but deepest joys of being in Delhi is being able to
experience a living heritage. Visit historical places like Old Fort, Jantar
Mantar, India Gate, etc. Maintain a diary to record your experience and
information from your visits. To make it more memorable, click and paste
some pictures too.
5. Man needs to coexist in harmony with his environment. "Water - The elixir
of life", needs to be conserved and wisely used. This summer, use water
judiciously and follow any five ways to save water.
6. Keep a track of the latest developments in the world of science and
technology. Visit places like Nehru Planetarium, National Science
Centre and learn about latest technology.
7. We would also like you to work on improving your handwriting during the
vacation time.
8. Students of Class II will attempt the holiday package in the given
worksheet. Students of Classes III to VII will attempt the same in a new
notebook divided into four sections and in a folder as mentioned in each
section.

Talk to your friends in your neighbourhood. Make a 'Health Club'. Get together every day in the morning or evening and indulge in the following activities:
Jogging, Jumping, Laughing, Deep Breathing. Check your height and weight on 15th May and then on 15th June after performing the above activities. Do you find any difference?
Make a colourful chart on healthy eating habits.
Make your own first aid box. Ask your parents to help you get the things to put inside.
Plant a few gram/rajma seeds in a small pot or an old mug. Water it daily and watch the plant grow. Record your observation in a tabular form showing the different stages of growth and the time period.
Geppetto was a carpenter who carved a wooden puppet and named it 'Pinocchio'. Read the story and find out what was peculiar about him. Enactment and narration of the story after vacation would be real fun.
Collect 5-6 leaves of different shapes and sizes. Trace their outline on a drawing sheet.Can you identify which plant they belong to?
Make a paper bag using old newspapers , calendars , magazines, etc., and also decorate the bag.
Use waste material such as pencil shavings, wool, pieces of cloth, etc., to create a garden scene.
Click pictures of the place you visit with your parents in the holidays. Share the experience and memories with your friends when you come back.
