MANGOES MANGOES MANGOES Our mango order arrived last Friday and this was the last pick of the season. As they are green you need to leave them out to ripen for about 3 to 4 days, then refrigerate them & bring them back out to ripen as you want them. We still have about 20 boxes if you or if you know of anyone who is interested in buying a box. There are approximately 18 mangoes per box for $25.oo. A big thank you to Zoi Tricarico for organising our mangoes.
Our Kialla Central P.S. House Athletics is on Friday 4th March at Kialla Central Primary School.

Archer ~ Blue Fairmaid ~ Green Mitchell ~ Yellow
We assemble on the oval at 9.15am for a 9.30am start and finish about 2.00pm. I am seeking some parent helpers for this day. If you are available to help please let me know.
DON’T FORGET ... We also have our big EGPSSA’s Athletics Carnival is at McEwen Reserve Shepparton on Friday 18th March.. We are required to run an event as well as supervise a couple of different age groups. We need lots of helpers to ensure this day is a success. Further details will be available closer to the date.
The link between school and home and home
and school is very Imperative to your child’s education. The open relation-ships we have with our families at
Kialla Central is second to none and some-thing we are very proud of! We encourage and welcome families to be active members of our school community. However, while our staff are readily available and accessable, it is important that you make an appointment to see your child’s teacher. As you can appreciate, our teachers have their morning routines and need time to prepare or setup things for the day’s learning or they may be on yard duty. After school they have meetings and /or professional learning sessions to attend and further preparation for the next day. Your assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated.
KIALLA CENTRAL PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Page 4
SOCIAL MEDIA Parents, carers, students and staff all share responsibility for ensuring that Kialla Central Primary School is a
positive, respectful and safe school environment. We are all responsible for sustaining a positive culture within our school community and for treating each other with dignity and respect at all times. Everyone should be mindful of the manner in which they conduct themselves in and around the school as well as on social media when referring to our school, including the use of images such as our logo & signage. Please remember we are the role models for our impressionable students. Thank you to those student’s who have already given me their expressions of interest for our Kialla United teams for footy, netball, soccer & our Auskick I have attached another lot of forms to this newsletter. Our school assemblies are now being held in the Library as our 4th room is now setup up as a classroom on a permanent basis. Assemblies are conducted by our student leaders starting at 2.45pm Monday afternoons. I have placed our order for our Grade 6 polo shirts. I am hoping they will be ready in a couple of weeks. On Monday 29th February it is Parents’ Club AGM followed by a general meeting. The AGM will begin at 7.00pm. If you would like further information about Parents’ Club and what’s involved please see me or one of our current members.
On behalf of Kialla Central Primary School I would like to thank our current Parents’ Club members who have done an enormous amount of work for our students and school: Tish Okely (President), Deanne Moulsdale (Secretary), Lisa Irwin (Treasurer), Wendy Kennedy, Tracy Blake, Annette Hunt, Amy Keat, Nadine Keyter and Lisa Garcia.
It is also that time of year again when schools hold their School Council elections. We have 4 parent vacancies to be filled this year as their 2 year term as School Councillors draws to an end. Our retiring members are: Graeme Mitchell, Robyn McCully, Tina Kerr & Anthony Kerr. Retiring School Councillors who still have children enrolled at Kialla Central are eligible to renominate for this year’s elections. Mitchell Zito’s position as our staff representative also becomes vacant after his 2 year term. He too can also re-nominate. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our 2015 School Council members: Bob Scott (President), Tina Kerr (Vice President), Robyn McCully (Treasurer), Andy Ryan, Joanne Robertson, Alan Keat, Graeme Mitchell, Anthony Kerr & Mitchell Zito for their time, effort and support as members of our School Council.
Nominations are now being sought for our 2016 School Council. Forms are available at the office and need to be returned to school by 4pm Wednesday 24th February 2016. If you would like to discuss this role further please come and see me.

Classroom WRAP
It was a very busy day in the city. The workers were working busily, the school students were
learning busily, the criminals were robbing – busily. But Blu – Tac Guy was having a late
breakfast (at 3:00) when the Mission Siren rang - again…

I was almost late to the concert. I only just made it with twenty minutes to spare. I walked into

It was 3 in the afternoon and just like always, Luca was still in bed drawing silly
constellations on his notepad. Luca had always been interested in the idea of space. All the
planets and stars fascinated him, especially the glow and colour they all gave off. His interest
in the universe first sparked in the sixth grade when all his classmates where assigned a space
project in Science…

The crowd went wild as Selena Gomez walked down the red carpet. There were pictures getting

There I was at the NASA space station. I was going to the moon. This was a big thing for me
going to the moon by myself! Going to space had been a dream of mine for a long time. Many
things were running through my head, good and bad. 3, 2, 1 and there I go!...

Suddenly, a burst of light came out. Opening the door was the Principal making a gesture to
the person inside who walked out. He walked straight to the hallway into darkness. “Callum in
NOW!” shouted the Principal looking stern like he was a General and I was a Private. I walked
in and had a look around the office. It looked rusty with heaps of antiques and in the corner
was one massive portrait of his Mum...

It was an ordinary day, Frank was outside playing with his dog. It was all fun, until a shin-
ing reflection caught Frank’s eye. He thought it must have been a plane, until the light be-
came brighter and larger. As it got closer it got windier. He was trying to avoid the truth, but
there was no point lying to himself - it was a UFO!

Our F/1 students are identifying and creating 6 people in their
family or their friends. One person must be them, another must be
their buddy and the other four are their choice. They are doing a
rough draft before creating their master pieces on card.
Our Grade 2/3/4 students are creating themselves using a wooden template of a person as
their starting point. Their goal is to make them as accurate as possible.
Our 5/6 students are also using a wooden template of a person as their starting point. They
have to create one side as them now and the other as them in the future at age 25.
