We inherited from the past Administration a
School System of nearly total collapse
infrastructure and personnel management
crisis. School Supervision and Monitoring
was in limbo. The Federal Government
Education Intervention Funds were not
accessed since 2010 till 2015 with
accumulation of over N4 Billion. Examination
Malpractices and Cultism were out of control.

School Mapping based EducationManagement Information System (EMIS) forthe past three years was successfully carriedout making use of Global Positioning System(GPS) and Geographical Information Systems(GIS).
• School map report is a collation of annualschool census data in GIS generated maps.
• The combination of GIS and EMIS brings to agradual end, the era of non-utility of educationdata due to lack of ways to present them.
• This provides adequate dynamic updatableinformation to help stakeholders in theeducation sector achieve set goals

Establishment of 41 Neighbourhood Supervision Centres for Secondary Schools and 130 Centres for Primary Schools.
War Against Examination Malpractices and dismantling of “Miracle Centres”
Ebonyi State came 10th Position twice in WAEC SSCE results of 2016 and 2017.
Ahead of all the States in the South West except Lagos State
and
4th Position in NECO SSCE results of 2016. only 0.8% (less than one point from 1st Position)
Task Force Against Students/Pupils loitering and hawking.
Re-introduction of Practical School Agriculture
Verification of Teachers Certificates through UBEB/SEB.
Total evaluation of infrastructure and personnel in the 31 Pilot Schools.
Harmonization of the administration of Junior and Senior Secondary Schools.
Regular and prompt payment of teachers salaries.
A successful Personnel Audit (UBEB and SEB)
450 Teachers were trained in collaboration with National Teachers Institute, Nigeria in Capacity Building of 250 Science/Mathematics Teachers and 100 quality Assurance Officers (MOE/UBEB/SEB)
Schools Evangelism: The School Evangelism is going on very well in the 3-Zones of Ebonyi State.
Multi-Choice/DSTV Established Education Resource Centres in 10 selected Secondary Schools now ready for commissioning.
Distribution of Science/Laboratory equipments in some Secondary Schools by Oil and Gas Limited, Chevron, Shell and NNPC, 52 Teachers were trained on ICT Packages
Establishment Approval of 12 Private and 2 Public Primary, 7 Public and 2 Private Secondary Schools.
The Sum of N3,000,000 (N3 million) was disbursed to each of our Oversea Scholarship students that were able to verify their data.
Mass Literacy Programme was revived; Courtesy by theWife of our Governor, Her Excellency Chief (Mrs.)Rachael Umahi.
The Higher Education Committee on EBSU and Collegeof Education made recommendations to restructure andreposition our Higher Education System.
School fees of EBSU Students reduced by N10,000
Two Big Buses were allocated to the Student UnionGovernment of EBSU.
The Ebonyi State University Law was amended and theirstaff services were gazetted.
The Governing Councils of Ebonyi State University andIkwo College of Education were reconstituted.
National Home Grown School Feeding Programme took off with Primary 1-3 in 1,066 Public Primary Schools with 164,163 Pupils benefiting.
MATHEMATICS & SCIENCES:i. 12 Gold wonii. 7 Silvers woniii. 4 Bronze wonNATIONAL DEBATE: i. National winner for the 2016 Democracy Day
Debate Competitionii. Multina Best Teachers of the Year: Ebonyi
clinched 10th Position again by Miss AgwuCornerllia.
iii. South East Zonal Leadership Training for 153 girls; we too 1st Position in two major events. This programme was in collaboration with the Department for International Development (DFID)
Model Teaching Methods of all the topics in Mathematics from JSS 1 – SSS 3 have been developed into disc of 10 pieces covering all the WAEC/NECO syllabus. They are now available in all schools.
War Against Illegal Levies is gaining ground and we must win the battle.
Two weeks training on Mental Arithmetic by National Mathematics Centre for 120 students and selected teachers was successfully carried out.
Pre-WAEC Unified SS II Promotion Examination was introduced and successfully conducted.
Comprehensive training/workshops were organised for all the teachers and principals of the Public Secondary Schools.
School Evangelism and Moral Instruction Programmes are introduced and reactivated respectively.
Uniform Scheme of Work for all the subjects in secondary schools were prepared and distributed to all the schools in the state to maintain uniform assessment and standard.
