At present we have only received two confirmed bookings and based on these numbers it would be unfeasible for Hazel to travel out and conduct lessons. At a minimum we would
require at least five students to be involved for Hazel to travel out. There are many benefits to having your child learn to play a musical instrument (see http://www.schoolatoz.nsw.edu.au/homework-and-study/other-subjects-and-projects/the-arts/why-your-child-should-study-music for some examples) and I urge you to consider this opportunity for your child and please contact Tara’s
Music School in Hamilton on 5572 3409 if interested. School Council Last week the first meetings of School Council took place and at the AGM Richie Belleville was again nominated to the position of President, Anna Wortley as Vice-President and Brian Nield as the Treasurer. I would like to congratulate these three on being selected as the Executive Committee who as previously advised will be joined on council by Mel McDonald, Rachael Dettling, Nicole Hunt, Tamara Hardy, Jane Young, Des Purcell, Jacinta Mulder, Rachell Thomson (Secretary) along with myself. There is a lot of work to be done this year and I thank these people for making themselves
available. Sporting Schools The last session of our After School Sport Program for term 1 will take place next Tuesday, 28th March. Our program will resume again in week 3 or 4 of term 2, with enrolment details to be included in an early addition of the newsletter next term. Once again I’d like to thank Ange Jones and Rachael
Dettling for the terrific job they do in leading this program for our students. Have a great week! Ben Kelson Principal
ARTISTS OF THE WEEK The first awards this week went to Grade 5 students Chelsea and Dale for their original interpretation of 'Creatures in the Jungle'. They were asked to use two sets of complementary colours to convey their ideas and I thought that both students displayed original ideas. The next awards go to Prep students Maggie and Lorraine for their terrific art work. Their class used cool and warm colours to create their art. Both
girls worked carefully and independently, which is very commendable after only four art lessons so far this year. The final awards went to Lennon (Grade 3) and Josh (Grade4) for their wonderful 'Cool Critters'. Using cool colour papers they were asked to use their creative ideas to make their critters. Both boys worked independently and put a lot of care and thought into their work.
Congratulations to these students. Anne McNaughton

soon as possible. If you are interested in your
child starting lessons this year or would like some more
