Dear LMC $ellabration guests,
We are dedicating this new event to my great grandmother
Antonia, her son Arcadio and wife Leonor (my grandparents), their
two sons Arcadio (my Godfather) and my Dad Rafael and my mother
Carmen. These are the people along with all of their employees who
deserve the credit for my family having the opportunity to do what
we love to do ranch in the Guerra tradition and raise a family out
in the country.
Antonia came from Mier, Mexico in 1873 as a widow with three
sons. She registered our world renowned La Mueca brand that same
year. They all worked hard, saved their money and started investing
in land in Starr County in the late 1890s. We work hard every day
in an effort to continue this great tradition to expand the
operation and do it better. We have tried to instill this same
great work ethic in our children. As the saying goes, One will not
be measured by what we accomplished in life, but what we should
have accomplished with our God given talents.
We are excited about this event because we are making a special
effort to help these good friends and clients market their cattle.
These inaugural $ellabration members like LMC are sharing their
best with you. The $ellabration Sale will offer something for
everyone as will the two junior shows which combined will award
more than $30,000. This is truly one of the great cattle events of
the year. We THANK YOU in advance for your support and hope you
enjoy your visit to La Mueca.
La Mueca genetics sold to four continents, several countries and
six states in 2011 proof that the La Mueca brand is in demand not
only for our cattle, but most important those of our clients who
are the ones that keep us in business.
The drought is breaking, the cattle market is at an all time
high, progressive commercial cattlemen are selling their steer
calves right off of the cows for $1,000+ dollars and commercial
female replacement sales are averaging over $2,000. A cowman has
always valued a good cow as being worth two good calves. A good
cowman will always be willing to pay up to five times what his good
calves are selling for his bulls.
At the LMC $ellabration we are selling both a darn good set of
bulls and a great set of females that can go anywhere in the
country and get the job done. Buy with confidence.
Please feel free to call on us if we can be of any assistance on
any matter.
Su amigo,
Carlos X. Guerra La Mueca Cattle Co.
LMC $ELLABRATION SALE DEDICATION
-
Last spring, the good folks at The Show Circuit, a well read,
large, nation wide show magazine, chose La Mueca to write an
article about for our Junior program and American breeds which gave
all of the eared cattle some free press all over the USA. A BIG
HEARTY THANKS goes out to Catherine Williams Neumayr, Carrie
Rhoades-Behlke and Rebecaa Hamilton for making this happen.
In August, I was honored to give the commencement speech at the
summer graduation at UTPA. As I was going to sit down, Dr. Nelson
brought me back up to the stage and awarded me my full degree in
Business Management that I had lacked three hours of earning. The
UT system felt that our community improvement efforts more than
made up for the three hours. That was a life changing experience
for me and my family. THANKS UTPA.
Our 24th Annual Jr. Round Up and LMC Futurity was a big success
with a great set of sponsors, v o l u n t e e r s , speakers,
cattle and most important our kiddos. We are planning a big
celebration for our 25th Annual to be held on Oct. 6.
Synergy IV was another big success thanks to Tim Smith, his
family, staff and many volunteers. Kallie Fuchs won reserve with
LMC Vida. LMC has bred 6 of the 8 SYNERGY champions and are very
proud of our LMC Juniors. All of the cattle sold well even though
we were in a major drought.
In October, the Hidalgo County Farm Bureau, who are big
supporters of our youth, honored our family for our dedication to
the improvement of agriculture in our area.
In December we had our 29th Annual Cook Off which Sister and I
manage. It was a big time success with thousands of people enjoying
some great South Texas hospitality. This is a great community event
that raises money for our school, church, scholarship endowment,
volunteer fire department, 4-H and little league ALL DONE BY
VOLUNTEERS.
Early this year, Boys & Girls Club honored our family for
our assistance to them and our community. They are a great
organization that helps lots of kiddos. We are very happy that our
Tina is on their board giving back to the community.
We must all THANK THE LORD that we live in this great country
and for these wonderful rains which are the best thing that has
happened. Lets hope and pray that 2012 will be a wet one and that
the cattle market will say strong.
Life is good at La Mueca. We have been blessed with our faith,
good health, lots of opportunities, many great friends, some good
rains and a loving family with some great grandkiddos that we are
blessed to see and love every day.
We hosted the first ever STAR GALA in January and together with
our great team of VOLUNTEERS and a
hard working bunch of FFA and 4-H students served over 1,000
supporters and raised over $225,000. We did it again this year and
raised $250,000 for our STAR Premium Auction. A BIG HEARTY THANKS
to everyone who helped!
2011 was a very special year for La Mueca starting off with a
bang at the 2011 National Show winning both National Grand and
Reserve Grand Champion Bulls with LMC Arcadio and LMC Rhino. We
went on to Houston and won International Champion Bull with
LMC Rhino who was followed up with a LM Full House son owned by
our good friend Madison Madden from Mississippi. We won the Triple
Crown when LMC BBS Primo won the RGV Show. To top that off, Camille
and Alicia Grahmann swept the super competitive Junior
Houston show with their LMC VG Go Getter and LMC HS Rocco
daughters that were both purchased in MAS V.
Our polled Brahman cattle did extremely well in Houston placing
in the top five in all five classes. We even won a class with LMC
Polled Blue Belle who has gone on and done some winning for Mary
Kate Walters. Her little brother Winston has really done well
winning several shows including the open San Antonio show with LMC
Polled Spice. The polled Brahman market is growing world wide and
we are proud to be helping lead the way.
MAS VI was another great event with 14 members selling 149 Lots
for a $3,100 average bringing the gross MAS sales to $2,534,785.
LMC bred heifers once again won both Grand and Reserve at MAS for
the sixth year in a row with Kallie Fuchs and Camille Grahmann
getting the job done. LMC steers once again did very well at the
STAR MAS Steer Show winning both spots again for the sixth straight
year for Liana Flores and Raul Turrubiates.
Our LMC Annual Jackpot show held in conjunction with MAS was a
big success with our junior clients being awarded $9,800 in
premiums, half of which was awarded in showmanship.

It has been a tradition at all auctions held at La Mueca to kick
off our sales with donation lots for special causes. We are proud
and grateful to all of the donors, bidders and buyers who have
helped us raise over $264,500 for scholarships and other charities
in our previous six MAS auctions
The Rafael A. Guerra Family awarded $42,500 in scholarships last
May to 36 graduating seniors from Edinburg North (Brewster School),
San Isidro, Edinburg FFA, South Texas Agriculture Round Up and the
TJSSA in the names of Victor, Arcadio, Rafael A. and Carmen Guerra.
Our grandfather Arcadio, our Tio Arcadio and our Dad always helped
local students to get thru college. Our grandfather Arcadio made
and ran a school for the ranch children the early days of La
Reforma Ranch. They all knew that education was the key to
success.
We started the Victor A. Guerra Memorial Scholarship Fund
shortly after Victors death at our first sale in the fall of 1979.
My little brother Gerry and I donated a Red Brahman heifer that
Victor had shown that year. The three of us had bought some
registered Red Brahman cattle under the name of La Mueca Cattle Co.
Our good friend Dr. Lee McKellar bought her for $4,500, added $500
and Dad matched it to kickoff the fund with $10,000. The Arcadio
Guerra Scholarship was started in 2000, the Rafael A. Guerra in
2006 and the Carmen Guerra in 2008.

Donation Lots
O u r family is proud to have awarded over $700,000 since 1979
to good students from throughout Texas, all of which have an
agricultural back ground or are from our Linn San Manuel or San
Isidro/La Reforma communities. They each fill out an application
and go thru a thirty minute interview. We salute and congratulate
all previous scholarship winners. This could not have happened if
it were not for the tremendous support we have received from so
many generous friends thru their donations of money, time and
genetics. A BIG, HEARTY THANKS goes out to the donors and buyers of
the following lots and also to the LMC $ellabration for allowing us
to continue this great tradition.
The Carlos X. Guerra family is again donating a two-day guided
Trophy Whitetail Buck Hunt for one hunter and one guest on the
Guerra Bros. El Tule Ranch for the 2010-11 season. The buyer can
also come back during the year for a weekend nalgai hunt. The camp,
along with some VIFCO rib eyes courtesy of the Luis Flores Family,
will be available. A great gift for the man that has everything or
for a father son/daughter weekend. These hunts are averaging $6,000
and are lots of fun. Here is a letter from this past seasons hunter
Tom Zulim:
Nicholas and Elisa (Tom and Laura Zulims grandkids) had their
best ever hunting experience last year on their successful MAS V
whitetail hunt at El Tule Ranch. It was a first time whitetail hunt
for both of them. Elisa scored with a beautifully symmetrical 10
point buck that scored 128-3/8. Nicholas, charmed young man that he
is, scored a new El Tule Ranch record with a monster 17 point buck
that scored a whopping 178-7/8. In addition to the unbelievable
whitetail deer, the accommodations at the hunting camp were great,
the food was fabulous (Thanks Tony!), the guides were wonderful
(Thanks Art!), the hunting country at the ranch was fantastic, and
the kids saw lots of high quality whitetail deer and other
wildlife. The warm hospitality and friendship of the La Mueca Ranch
staff and the entire Guerra family was simply the best. A great
experience that was made even better by the fact that all of the
proceeds for the hunts went to more scholarships; it was again
worth every penny and more. Thank you Don Carlos and Family for
Elisas and Nicholas truly wonderful experience.

Three units of LMC EF JW Black semen. We have very little semen

combinations in the breed. He is the sire to such breed greats as
LMC Johnnie Walker, LMC Diva, LMC VG Go Getter, LMC Topanga, LMC
Velvet, LMC LF Braveheart and so many more. This bull produced more
great ones per cow exposed than any bull we have ever used. You can

Selling 100% of RGV Peaches to support the American Junior
Simbrah Roundup. All monies will go to their general fund for
expenses. It gives us great pleasure to be able to donate the
proceeds from the sale of this heifer to this organization. We
attended our first Roundup two years ago and we were overwhelmed
with the generosity and camaraderie that it offered. The
opportunities the Roundup offers kids are priceless! If you have a
child that is interested in showing cattle and have never attended,
you are missing out! The kids have an opportunity to learn about
the breed, showmanship, herdsmanship, improve their self esteem,
meet new people and establish new relationships. There is a small
fee for all of this. And I didnt mention that you are fed three
great meals a day while there. There is not another event in
Simbrah, or for that matter, any breed, that offers more family and
character building than the Roundup. As breeders, every one of us
should be encouraging every one of our junior clients and their
families to attend this one-of-a-kind event! It was decided last
year that the Roundup will be moving to different sites. We will be
following the Roundup wherever it goes. This years Roundup will be
held June 13-16 at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Grounds in
Mercedes, Texas. Make plans to attend!
And now for the heifer. This baby doll is a solid light red
female born 2/21/11. She is sired by Majestic and one of our most
productive cows that goes back to the Simbrah bull LMC Momentum.
This female is loaded with femininity, capacity, depth and
cleanliness. She is a full sib to RGV LMC Sierra who won the LMC
Futurity for Alyssa Martinez. Her maternal brother, RGV Intensity
was Reserve Champ in San Antonio. Peaches dam has produced calves
that are in the herds of Freasier Ranch, Pancho Villarreal,
Honeycutt Simbrah and Nomar Cattle Co. She also produced a steer
shown by Joseph Falcon that made weight as a 10-month-old calf !
Peaches comes from a reliable, fertile cow line. She sells open and
ready to breed. Two units of semen on any of our bulls can be used
on this heifer which include Ante Up, Dream Up and our new junior
herdsire LMC Superstar. I would like to thank Robert Martinez from
Rising Sun Cattle and Javier Moreno from La Negra Cattle for their
help in feeding and breaking this heifer.

Brahman bulls and sell them on a daily basis. We take this
responsibility very serious, try to offer the best bulls of all
three breeds and, most important, stand behind our bulls.
We also sell a lot of herd bulls to other breeders who come to
La Mueca because they know they are buying sons of the Power Bulls
of the Breeds with State-of-the-Art pedigrees. Our Simbrah bulls
have dominated the International Show Ring for many years and just
recently our Ambassador Polled Brahman bull won the Get-of-Sire at
the tough San Antonio show proving that these cattle are built
right, breed right and can compete in all
arenas. We THANK all of our past bull buyers and always WELCOME
new business. Below are a few of our recent bull sales.

We are in the Bull Business!
LMC Soldier 5S/324
In keeping with our tradition of selling one of our best and
proven herd bulls in all of our auctions, we are selling LMC
Soldier in his entirety. He is one of the best-looking bulls ever
produced in Simbrah that NEARS PERFECTION IN THE FLESH. He is sired
by the 2006 Reserve International Champion PRR Red Ammo that we
sold Pine Ridge as a frozen embryo. Red Ammo also won the last
Simbrah Sensation Bull Show and topped the MAS II bull offering
selling for $7,500 to Tres Potrillos Ranch owned by the Alvaro
Gonzalez family. He has done them a very good job as he did us
prior to us selling him. The 2005 and 2006 International Champion
bulls were his full sibs Red and Black Bullet bred by LMC-RFI and
Smith Genetics out of the famous LMC She Moves cow.
Soldier has produced lots of good cattle for us and our partner
Alejandro Guerra from Mexico as can be seen in the photos. Look at
his full sister, LMC So Good, in the photo. He is in the prime of
his life for natural service and has tremendous foreign semen sales
potential. He is rich in color, muscle, correctness, depth, length,
balance, has a clean sheath, big testicles and is the TOTAL
PACKAGE. He sells with 300 units of semen.

Aficionado was a great Christmas gift back in 2007. He was an
exciting calf that went on to be a division winner in San Antonio
during his show career. He is a moderate, easy keeping, solid black
herd bull whose first calves were born light and are now growing
into the keeping kind. Aficionado has many positives, among them is
his pedigree. He is sired by LM EF JWB, who is also the sire to LMC
HS Rocco, LMC ATZ Dr. Feelgood and the immortal LMC Diva. His dam
is the donor LMC Daisy whose first litter of calves grossed over
$15,000 in MAS V alone. Daisy goes back to the fertile LMC Titans
Mueca 5H/144 donor, who produced the most fertile embryos (72) that
Dr. Boyd Bien has ever seen in one flush. When you combine this
fertility with the championship genetic clout of LM EF JWB and
consider the calving ease that Aficionado has to offer, he will be
an asset to any herd. Aficionado is young, well-bred and has proven
himself with his first calf crop. Do not miss this opportunity to
own one of Simbrahs rising stars. LMC & BETM reserve the right
to collect 300 units of semen for in-herd use only to be collected
at the buyers convenience and sellers expense.

LMC Swagger has done us a great job as can be seen in the photos
of his daughters. Make sure to check out our granddaughters show
heifer that will be showing in the $20,000+ LMC $ellabration show.
We feel that Swagger could be the best son of the popular LMC
Johnnie Walker bull who topped MAS selling for $13,500 to the JW
Group and was the 2008 National and International Champion bull. We
are selling him only because we are keeping a great set of
daughters, have a small herd and must replace our herd bull. We
have been buying our herd bulls from La Mueca for many years and
are very proud of the herd that we have developed.
We paid $4,500 for Swagger at MAS IV making him the second top
selling bull that day. His dam is the popular LMC Swan cow that won
many a show and raised over $20,000 for Marcos Flores. She is now
the top donor at BETM Ranch and Dr. Guerra tells me that her first
litter of Rocco heifers averaged $9,000. This bull is loaded with
money making and championship genetics and has many years of
production left. Proven, Powerful and Profitable do not miss
him!

Joan and I genuinely enjoy Carlos and his family. We love
looking at good, functional cattle. The first time I came to La
Mueca, I was driven into a pasture and got to see first-hand and in
person the famous bulls of the breed, i.e. LMC Accountant, LMC
Energizer, LMC Profitable and LMC Valiant. That was cool. We ended
up owning Valiant a few years later.

there is one good thing that comes from a drought, they make us
cull cattle we should have already culled, so all of my cows are
now my favorites. I have saved all of our Bullet Proof daughters

La Negra Cattle Company and La Mueca Cattle Company are proud to

daughter out of Victors 1995 Superbowl champion LMC Mariah

one of the most popular Simmental bulls of all time. Mariah herself
is sired by the Simmental bull Rob that can be found in many of La
Muecas foundation donors, including LM Robs Mueca 3E/89 and LMC
Lonesome Dove 5C/66, who produced superstars such as LM Full House
and LMC Johnnie Walker. A maternal sister to 12th Man, LMC LN

Kingsville this past December for Victoria Villanueva. 12th Mans
maternal brother, the $21,000 LN LMC Dream Up, was Reserve

age and has produced some well-made calves in his first crop. 12th
Man offers new blood and a new look backed by one of the most
productive and profitable bloodlines in the breed. Dont miss out on
this opportunity to be the first to breed 12th Man as we are
confident he will be among the elite herd sires in Simbrah and the

He is sired by LMC WFC Wave Amigo, who is a full sib to the popular

Marilana, winning Reserve Grand at the tough FW Junior Show two
years in a row. A bull cannot have two better grand dams than LMC
Diva and PRR Morning Star. Add Nu Wave II and Black Major to the
mix and you are in business. His dam is a moderate but soggy
good-looking MAMA COW as you can see in the photo above. We like

One of the things that impressed us across the board about our

Doss dark cherry red and blaze face make him a desirable herd bull
in terms of color pattern, but he does not stop there as he puts a
lot of good things together. This LMC Johnnie Walker grandson is
stout featured, big footed and is loaded with breed character. His
maternal grandsire, LMC Goodwill 5E/79, was a calving ease guru for
La Mueca for many years and is sired by the $120,000 PTL
Trendsetter bull. Dos carries the likes of LM EF JW Black and Wards

I have been a client of La Mueca dating back to the 1980s. Those

By focusing on assembling some of the best genetics in the

with competitive phenotypes, but more importantly, cattle that will
perform in the pasture. The LM Swan donor didn't skip a beat when
we acquired her from La Mueca Flores, she's still a consistent
volume egg producer of good looking and dependable cattle just like
the Maxima show heifer prospect here. These Rocco baby dolls have
been very competitive at shows all around Texas and continue to be
top sellers for outfits such as Smith Farms and La Negra Cattle
Company. Maxima is an angular, sleek fronted heifer with lots of
eye appeal and a loaded pedigree with the likes of LM EF JW Black,

LN Starstruck is an ET full sibling to the two outstanding
prospects that we sold in last years MAS sale for $8,000 each to
Katy Salyer and Luis Garcia. Just like her sisters, Starstuck will
be a very competitive show heifer and will then make a top donor

combines bone, depth, thickness, angularity, soundness, eye appeal
and extension into a package that will be hard to beat. She is
sired by the champion LMC Rocco, who has already sired his share of
champions and is now deceased. Rocco semen is getting harder and
harder to find, which makes this female even more valuable. On the
dams side, she is out of LN Nidorina, one of our top donors whose
last eight calves have averaged well over $6,000. This is the kind
of female that has the potential to make a positive impact on the
Simbrah breed. She sells halter broke, is eligible for the MAS
Showdown, the LMC $ellabration and sells with two units of semen
from LNCC bulls.

LN Starburst is a product of our IVF embryo program. She is as
attractive and angular as you can make one. Starburst is plenty
thick, wide based, clean fronted, has loads of eye appeal and has a
big square hip. She is sired by LMC Dr. Feel Good, who is indeed
making his mark on the Simbrah breed by consistently siring top
notch cattle that have already won their share of championships. On
the bottom side she, like LN Starstruck, is out of LN Nidorina, who
has produced as many good ones as any cow we have ever owned and is
also the dam of the two $8,000 prospects that we sold in last years
MAS sale. We have sold full siblings to LN Starburst to Javier
Martinez, Victor Moreno and Nina Olvera and they have all been very
competitive on the show circuit. LN Starburst is stacked
genetically and has all of the making of a great show heifer. She
sells halter broke, is eligible for the MAS Showdown, the LMC
$ellabration and sells with two units of semen from LNCC bulls.

LN Juliet is a young, November show prospect with tons of
potential. Juliet is solid red, smooth polled and blaze faced. She
excels in length, thickness and extension. In addition, she has a
super square hip, is structurally sound and is very eye appealing.
Juliet is out of our $21,000 junior herdsire LN LMC Dream Up that
we own with RGV, La Mueca and Patroncita. This will be Dream Ups
first calf crop and they are looking very promising. Dream Up
combines the genetics of the great international champion Ante Up
and one of the best up and coming donors in the breed, LMC Mariahs
Dream (Delilah). On the dams side, Juliet is out of our
carcass-oriented LMC Sophies Eyes donor, which is sired by the
great carcass bull, CCR Snake Eyes. Sophies Eyes is also the dam of
the champions LN Panda and LN Star in addition to having several
sons in the Daryl Sklar herd. LN Juliet sells halter broke, is
eligible for the MAS Showdown, the LMC $ellabration and sells with
two units of semen from LNCC bulls.

Honesty. Integrity. Contagious POSITIVE attitude. They stand
behind their cattle and you dont have to worry about inaccurate
pedigrees or dates of birth.
Favorite Animal: LMC BeyonceBeyonce is easily my favorite LMC
purchase because she put our cattle company on the Simbrah map. She
has produced over $30,000 for us and puts a great calf on the
ground for us year in and year out. She was a great buy that has
returned our investment many times over. Prime example of quality
costs but it pays!

Fawn is an exceptionally pedigreed, super correct, feminine
female destined to make an impact on someones herd. She is 15
months old, open and ready for the bull of your choice. This female
is well bred having the great sires Dr. Feel Good, Ante Up, Johnnie
Walker Black, Second Coat, Red Bullet, Powerhouse, Sargeant, Night
Moves and Red Wrangler in her pedigree. She is ultra feminine and
has a razor sharp front end. She is out of an ideally uddered,
heavy milking, first time heifer sired by Ante Up that Klarissa
Cantu bought and campaigned successfully. Her sire is the popular
Dr. Feel Good whom has already sired his share of great ones. Take
advantage of the awesome genetics packed in this female shes ready
to start making you some money! Two units on any of our bulls are
available to breed this heifer to.

If you came to the sale to buy a donor quality female, look no
further. You want to talk about one that hurts to sell, Red Sonja
is it! She is sired by the Simbrah bull Boomerang and the great LMC
Beyonce, who is now deceased. This is Beyonces only red calf and
she is a dandy. This heifer has loads of thickness, volume, bone
and that ever important front end. I am super excited about
offering this high quality female. Her dam, Beyonce , has produced
over $30,000 in sales and I see no reason why Red Sonja cant do the
same. Sonjas maternal half sister, RGV Beyonces Destiny, is one of
our lead donors. Another maternal sister, RGV Shania, is in the La
Mueca and LPJ herds. We deeply regret not showing this heifer, but
she had a rough start with a recip that didnt milk the best. Red
Sonja sells open with two units of semen on any of our bulls to
breed her to.

The reason I enjoy doing business with La Mueca is that I know
when I buy a Simbrah from La Mueca I am getting the best genetics
in the breed. The Guerra family has always treated us fairly and
had a
real interest in our program. These fine folks at La Mueca are
more than just business associates; they are our friends. We
appreciate all they do for the youth in agriculture and the Simbrah
breed.

Cover Girl is a double bred HR Powerhouse who is the only bull
to ever win Houston back-to-back and then, to top that, he sired
the next four International Champion bulls, three of which were
bred by La Mueca. On the sire side, she goes back to the great LMC
Accountant and the Little Bill bull bred by Daniel Hebert that LMC
bought as a calf and won the RGV Bull Test with. This is a very
young female looking for a good home. She was AIed on 1-25-2012 to

My father, Flavio Escobar, begin buying bulls from the Guerra
family back in 1960. What impressed him the most was the way he was
treated. He often said that the Guerra family was
very courteous and offered everyone an inviting atmosphere.
Fifty years later we are still buying bulls and heifers from Carlos
