LITURGICAL MUSIC PLANNER 2017, YEAR A Dear Pastoral Minister: Greetings from Collegeville, Minnesota! What follows is the Liturgical Music Planner for Celebrating the Eucharist, its companion songbook Sacred Song (2016 edition), and the Collegeville Hymnal for the first quarter of the 2017 Liturgical Year. We are entering Year A in the Sunday Cycle. In July, Liturgical Press published a new edition of Sacred Song (2016). With the new edition, a supplement of accompaniment materials is available by visiting the Liturgical Press website and entering “2016 Supplement” in the search field or contacting customer service at 800.858.5450. This provides the accompaniments for new pieces added to the book and also updated indices, including an Index of Psalms by Psalm Number. Because Sacred Song is a threeyear songbook, if you purchased your current Sacred Song books before August 1 st , 2013, you will need to purchase the new edition for your pews as the threeyear copyright has expired for the 2011 edition. If you are uncertain of your date of purchase, please contact customer service at the number above. The 2016 edition of Sacred Song is easier to open and hold in the hand. This edition will also contain new music for weddings, funerals, the Communion procession, acclamations from Mass of Creation and additional hymns. A planner has been created reflecting the new numbers in Sacred Song 2016. It can also be found on the music planner page on the website. I will be providing planners for both the 2011 and 2016 editions for one year. Beginning with Year B, a planner will be created for the 2016 edition of Sacred Song only. We are honored you have chosen Liturgical Press pew resources to assist your parish assembly to participate in the Sacred Liturgy. If you have any questions or concerns, or I can be of any assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Wishing abundant blessings upon your ministry to the Body of Christ.
