pes of Klein Lineman’s Body Belts
Full-Floating Belt:
• llows 4" (102 mm) lateral movement of theD-rings during use (a maximum of 2" oneach side).
• D-rings easily adjust to lineman’ positioningchanges on the pole. s a result, thepositioning trap slides against he pole lessfrequently, and strap wear is reduced.
• ny load or pull on the D-rings will not bind
tools in he tool loops.• Does not allow lateral movement of the belt
strap with the ool loops.
Semi-Floating Belt:
• llows lateral movement of the belt strap withthe ool loops prior o earing the body belt.
• ny load or pull on the D-rings will not bindtools in he tool loops.
• Does not allow lateral movement of theD-rings.
Fixed Belt:
• Does not allow lateral movement of theD-rings or belt rap with the tool loops.
Klein lineman’s belt straps billets, and pocket abs aremade of Klein-Kord®. Klein-Kord® is an exceptionallytrong, multi-ply filament nylon fabric hat is neoprene-
impregnated, folded, and vulcanized.
Klein-Kord® is abrasion-resistant, non-conductive,virtually free from tretch, and flexible for ease of useand durability. It has excellent chemical resistance andis vir ually unaffected by creosote and other pole-treatment hemicals. In addition, its properties andwear characteristics remain essentially unchanged attemperatures up to 50°F (121°C).
Shown at right is Klein’ six-ply Klein-Kord®, hich is1-3/4" (44 mm) wide. he enter plies of Klein-Kord® are ed at the ore. hen the red plies appear, remo ethe product from use and replace it. This “early warning”feature is yet another afety measure provided byKlein Tools.
Note: he red center plies may become iscoloredin use.Theref re, visual inspection or wear beforeuse is mandatory.
Drop-Forged teel Hardware
Klein D-rings, nap-hooks, and tongue buckles aremade of drop-forged steel with a corrosion-resistantfinish. All of this Klein hardware is tested to meet orexceed applicable tandards and OSH requirements
Nylon Webbing
Klein uses a high-quality, commercial-grade nylon. The nylon webbing is impregnated with resin for extradurability and abrasion resistance
Leather
Rolled-edge, hrome-tanned leather is used forushioning in all Klein lineman’s belts. hese ushions
have ponge-rubber cores or added omfort. Otheromponents, such as tool loops, are made of latigo
leather, hand-laced and stitched o the belt cushion.Tape thong traps are onstructed from long-lastingleather with a vulcanized iber ross-piece. On top-of-the-line belts, traps are co ered with harness leather
Nickel Plating
Klein knife naps, glove-bag rings, and suspender rings
are nickel plated for durability and orrosion resistance.
