An informal viewing of a DVD full of Year 6 memories was viewed on arrival, stimulating much chatter and laughter. The students then joined in enthusiastically with dance routines they had learned during Term 4 in Dance2bfit sessions. We were even lucky enough to have the finale from presentation day reprised! A sumptuous meal was served and this was followed by more dancing and the final farewell speeches. The evening ended with parents joining Year six for the presentation of their Graduation yearbooks and a final dance with their children. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Special thanks to Mrs Madden and Ms Blunden for their organisation of the farewell and to the Stackpool family, Mrs Needham and Mrs Murr for their assistance. Also, well done to Mrs Madden and Ms Blunden on the excellent job they have done in preparing Year 6 for High School. Once more we wish all our Year six students the very best as they begin their high school careers. Mind Quest Congratulations to Eden Richards, 4P on receiving a certificate of achievement from the MindQuest weekend she attended at St George Girl’s High. Course leaders only present one or two of these certificates for each group, so we are very proud of Eden’s efforts at this event. Upgrades and Maintenance There will be a lot of work carried out at school during the holidays. A new roof is to be installed on the K-2 site toilet block. Painting will be carried out in the current Year six rooms and the 3-6 toilet block. And five new whiteboards will be installed in various rooms across the school. Thank you As school winds down with final excursions to Bundeena for Stage 2, the school picnic for everyone and the talent quest for 3-6 on Friday I would like to wish staff, students, families and the community a Merry Christmas shared with family and friends. I would also like to thank everyone for the support they have given Lilli Pilli PS during 2016, with special gratitude to you all for the encouragement and support you have given me in the role of Principal this term. I look forward to everyone returning safely from the holidays, ready to begin a new year of learning.
