Daylight saving time (or summer time) is the practice of advancing clocks during the lighter

months so that evenings have more daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are

adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in the autumn.

The modern idea of daylight saving was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson, and it was first implemented by Germany and Austria-Hungary starting on 30 April 1916. Many countries have used it at various times since then, most consistently since the energy

crisis of the 1970s.

Agriculture, also called farming or husbandry, is the cultivation of animals, plants, fungi, and other life forms for food, fiber, medicinal products, biofual and other products used to sustain and enhance human life.

Agriculture was the key development in the rise of human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that nurtured the development of civilization.

Climate change has the potential to affect agriculture through changes in solar radiaton.

Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally from the sun, into chemical energy that can be later released to fuel the organisms' activities.

Photosynthesis Equation

Most plants perform photosynthesis. Photosynthesis maintains atmospheric oxygen levels and supplies all of the organic compounds and most of the energy necessary for life on Earth.

Current use of solar energy as a source of electricity

• For now solar farms are minority and are mostly used in private sector for heating water or as auxiliary sources of electricity.

• There are over 250 companies in the sector of solar energy systems implementations on the Polish market.

• The collective power of every sollar cell in Poland is estimated to be about 3,6MW.

Insolation in Poland

Best suited locations for solar power plants are central and eastern Poland. They are mostly covered with field crops thus there is a lot of space for solar farms and forests are left unlogged.

Plan of development

• Because of the increasing efficiency of solar cells goverment of Poland made plans to turn few old airfields into solar farms. Predicted budget fot this investiton is over 5 million €

• First two located in Wierzchosławice and Gryźliny are meant to be full operational by 2015 and work at 2MW.

• Overall amount of solar power plants is set to be over 12 with total power of 50MW.
