S.A.L.T. of the Firebirds December Meeting
The S.A.L.T. of the Firebirds met for their December meeting on Wednesday, December 09th, spending the majority of the time diving into their study of The Coffee Bean. Written by Jon Gordon and Damon West, The Coffee Bean focuses on our responses to circumstances we face in life. If you are unfamiliar with the book, please read the following excerpt from Jon Gordon's website -
Life is often difficult. It can be harsh, stressful, and feel like a pot of boiling hot water. The environments we find ourselves in can change, weaken, or harden us, and test who we
truly are. We can be like the carrot that weakens in the pot or like the egg that hardens. Or, we can be like the coffee bean and discover the power inside us to transform our
environment. The Coffee Bean is an inspiring tale that follows Abe, a young man filled with stress and fear as he faces challenges and pressure at school and home. One day after class, his teacher shares with him the life-changing lesson of the coffee bean, and this powerful
message changes the way he thinks, acts, and sees the world. Abe discovers that instead of letting his environment change him for the worse, he can transform any environment he is in
for the better. Equipped with this transformational truth, Abe embarks on an inspirational journey to live his life like the coffee bean.
The S.A.L.T. of the Firebirds will continue their study throughout second semester, focusing on how they can respond to all circumstances - no matter the level of difficulty - as a coffee bean.
In addition to our book talk, the S.A.L.T. of the Firebirds spent time reflecting upon their vision for their futures (both as individuals and their team), and identifying three actions they can take today to start working towards achieving their vision(s).

School Pictures
● Hybrid students will take their picture while at school. Remote students wanting to take a school picture will need to come to the school, on their alpha day during their English class time slot. Example for remote students - if my last name begins with "G" and my English class is during 4th Hour , I would come to the school on Thursday at 11am for my school picture.
● At this time, there is not a special “Senior Picture Day”, so it it recommended that you take a picture at this time as well.
● Students - please enter the building through the Gym entrance and go to the Small Gym.
